I worked at Singtel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good Brand Name of Singtel

    Cons

Lousy work life balance - Team members clocking exceptionally long hours. Boss not helpful, completely not in touch with the ground, and did little to address of team members' grievances and feelings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do take time to really understand your people on the ground.

I worked at Singtel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good colleagues, who are really trying to make something out of their job.

    Cons

    - horrible politics. Managemnt seemed more intent on looking for someone to blame when things go wrong, then to fix underlying problems. Yelling and screaming is an acceptable way for bosses. Pleasing your bosses and to be blue-eye boy/girl is the gurantee way to get good ratings and bonuses.
    - hr policies not well thought through and sucks at explaining to staff. Dont think they really care about employees. Appeared to put a lot of emphasis to win awards.
    - bureacracy. sigh, worst than stat boards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop showing there is a very clear class difference between Top Managemnt and the rest, and dont just stay in the ivory towers in Comcentre1. the peoples are the one who worked hard for Singtel to be number one. Do show more care and concern, they are not just worker bees.

I have been working at Singtel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place if you're not striving for much. People here really hug their JDs tightly and do only what is needed. Work-life balance easily achieved if u do that.

    Cons

Gets frustrating if u're a slightly more responsible. Even more so when u're a responsible person without a big title. Be prepared to get blamed & fight back for everything. Think GE - PAP vs Opp.

I have been working at Singtel full-time

    Pros

The need to change is taken seriously. The challenger spirit is alive. The job security is real.

    Cons

Telco-mentality still present, partners are treated like vendors, arrogant attitude towards internet space

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acqui-hire digital people in Top Management then trust them. Review reasons why previous digital talent left.

I have been working at Singtel full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's a stable company to work for, even during recessions.
Bonus is still considered competitive, but this depends on the department.
For a department with more exposure to upper management, the average bonus is approx 2 to 3 months (excluding AWS).
For operational departments, the bonus can be as low as 1 month (excluding AWS).

    Cons

The organisation is huge, and messy. This is largely due to different systems being used in different processes in the value chain.
Lots of efficiencies exist and it is difficult to change existing processes because too many parties are involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When making top down decision, do bear responsibility for them.
