I worked at SiriusXM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Innovative, high energy, friendly and passionate work environment. Often worked overtime, but seemed to even out eventually.

    Cons

Very unprofessional management overall, though you may find a few hidden gems, the majority is looking out for #1 and the path of least resistance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up. Make the choice to do the right thing even if it is the more difficult path. Lead in a way that makes you proud.

I worked at SiriusXM as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I wore whatever I wanted to work and basically didn't get bothered while doing my work, I wore whatever I wanted to work and basically didn't get bothered while doing my work

    Cons

My work consisted of nothing more than just editing audio and never getting any thanks or anything for it, eh, I guess you live and you learn

    Pros

New Media opportunities in unique music library.

    Cons

Middle management laden and slow to grow. Red-tape nightmare. Unfortunately at the end of the day, SXM is a company that sells car radios, not the Vision Lee Abrams set forth years ago. Could stand to take a page from companies like Apple.

No leadership - good place to work if you are happy out of the loop

    I worked at SiriusXM

    Pros

Decent pay, free snacks, no oversight and lax dress code if that's your thing

    Cons

Lack of direction, care, management, and communication. Heavily relied on consultants for work that could have easily been done in house. Unsure if people knew what they were doing or just trying to replicate from elsewhere

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of your departments are run very well I have seen them first hand. I was also impressed with your open book policy and general communication company-wide. But my experience with your 'executives' in my department left me wondering if they even knew I was at work and if they cared what I was doing. Not a great experience - I had high hopes.

    I worked at SiriusXM

    Pros

Start up environment, freedom to be inventive.

    Cons

Under-staffed, managers who are cruel and set impossible goals. If you want to learn what underlying health issues you have, go work at XM/Sirius. There are no values, very eat or be eaten.

I worked at SiriusXM as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Good company to really get experience
    Get to meet stars
Good feel of the city life

    Cons

No employment. Was an intern for a very Very long time but was never offered a position. The shows I worked with loved to have me, but couldn't seem to get me a way in. Eventually I had to leave and find another job somewhere else.

If your looking to go into radio, look somewhere else first

I worked at SiriusXM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent salary and benefits.
    Better than being unemployed.
    Looks good on a resume.

    Cons

Expected to be on call 24/7. Zero work life balance.
Some senior level management people don't have a clue how to manage people.
Not a good team atmosphere. Too many groups that don't work well together.
Many times it seems like they actually TRY to annoy customers. Customer satisfaction is a foreign concept when it comes to decision making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get better senior executives that have customer handling and people leadership skills.

I have been working at SiriusXM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

All job positions here sound important but many do not require a degree. I guess they make you feel more important that way but would be nice if the the pay reflects the title.

    Cons

Had this job for quite a few years. Literally worked for peanuts after factoring in casual overtime. Feel sorry for the poor schlump who took this job after I left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more for the required time needed for this job.
