I have been working at Sitel full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

i enjoy the fact that i dont have to leave home. I enjoy 90% of my inbound callers you do get the few that you can give the moon and they still are not happy

    Cons

Tech Support and HR are awful I never can get a Coach or operations manger when I need one sometimes I dont have time to wait 2 days for a response

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Either have smaller teams so that you can keep up with everyone or hire more people to help you get back to the people you already have. It is crazy that I can have a tech issue call and have to wait 24 -28 hours to see if i can get back online

I have been working at Sitel (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    understanding staff for time off

    Cons

quality agents do not see what you are doing, they simply listen to your voice. It can get VERY tiring to be cheerful for 40 hours, and you never know when your audited.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

please..please permit more than two 15 min breaks a day.
this is hard work, and selling redbull is not going to solve the problem of constant state of zombie.
fix the air conditioning. it's freezing on one side of the building, bolstering hot on the other. you expect us to smile and be polite while we are slowly roasted alive like overcooked turkeys.

I have been working at Sitel full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, great benefits, schedules, bonuses sometimes

    Cons

There is no advancement, and even the lucky ones who are chosen to advance to team lead only get a 50 cent raise

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When employees contact you asking about opportunities for advancement, don't just ignore them. Answer them, even if the answer isn't YES, at least you won't look like you don't give a crap.

I have been working at Sitel

    Pros

No commute, all equipment provided at no additional charge, various campaigns t choose from, promotional opportunities fairly quick. It's a great way to avoid the loud chaotic environment of a call center atmosphere. The company offers great benefits and promotes from within.

    Cons

Starting pay should be no less than $11.00. $9.00 hardly supports a family. Training should be longer and include more information that will allow employee to be more equipped when they get into production. Operation, Coaches, and Trainers can be unprofessional in their interaction with employees. Human resources fails to act on behalf of the employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember at one point you to were a novice, you were a new hire, and you were a trainee. Be proactive and not reactive. High turnover rates within a company can eventually mean the demise of that company.

I have been working at Sitel full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The pros of this job are the benefits they offer. You can't really beat a sit down job that offers insurance, 401k and a monthly bonus when you don't have a college degree. This company is also VERY accepting of ALL people.

    Cons

The Sitel I am employed with is in a very small town, and there aren't many jobs to choose from, and you cap out at $9/hr. Unless you move up (which is an act of congress) you are stuck making barely over minimum wage. I wouldn't mind staying for years and years but I need more for my family. Another con is management has a lot of favorites.

I have been working at Sitel

    Pros

I was able to work through the ranks from representative, to team manager, to operations manager. Wonderful people to work with.

    Cons

Depending on the client may have to work overnight and on holidays so not much opportunity to be with family. Need more communication

I have been working at Sitel (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    GREAT co-workers
    Overtime is offered regularly

    Cons

new HSA insurance is a rip off
lazy supervisors who pass their responsibilities off on other people as well as pass their representatives responsibilities off on tech support
    salary
vacation time (not enough for this stressful environment)
    no sick days
old attendance policy was awful; would still get an occurrence with a doctor's excuse
    unprofessional and rude mgmt

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to talk to people
Provide our feedback and issues to the client
Address supervisors who refuse to take sup calls

I have been working at Sitel

    Pros

A monkey in business casual could be hired

    Cons

Four weeks of classroom training that in no way prepares you for the production floor. Mandatory overtime because of the high turnover rate. More emphasis on call handling time and after call times than helping the customer. Focus on client billed minutes (Sitel getting paid) I have worked at call centers for the last 20 years and this place is by far the worst. Get hired for the paid training and keep looking for a real job while you are there!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop being a sweatshop.
