I love six flags!!!!

Cashier At Character Cafe (Current Employee)
Saint Louis, MO

I have been working at Six Flags part-time for less than a year

Prosyou can get a lot of experience working with people and honing your people skills almost to perfection. my pay is good and i'm just a host. you start from the bottom and have to work your way up to lead, supervisor, full-time, and then maybe one day to park manager. but like i said they start you off at the bottom. if you want a better position, you gotta work for it. i love six flags for teaching me this. you also make a lot of new friends working at six flags. i know almost everyone that works there because i'm just that type of outgoing guy who take time to learn about everyone.

Consthere is not actually anything bad about working at six flags. people complain on here about leaving late. everyone knows about this before you even get hired!!!! they tell you at the interview. i don't mind cleaning after hours because its easy money and it helps in the long run when trying to get promoted.

Advice to Senior Managementkeep doing what you do best and dont change anything. i think you guys are doing great this year. keep up the good work

I have been working at Six Flags

ProsFrom what I can tell the reviews are mixed, I think it all depends on what Six Flags is near you, me it's Great America in Gurnee which is a very busy every season (even more so when a new ride opens) so look at where your Six Flags is and what the reputation is.

ConsI can not give any at the moment since I will be new to this so I'll give any in the near future.

Great First Job

Seasonal Supervisor (Former Employee)
Eureka, MO

I worked at Six Flags part-time for more than 3 years

ProsSix Flags has great advancement opportunities for seasonal employees. Where else can you be promoted to supervisor when you are 18 years old? They also offer a very generous no-strings-attached scholarship program. The pay for lifeguards is very competitive and they pay for all of your lifeguard training (plus they pay you to attend training). It is also a lot of fun to work with people your own age as nearly all lifeguards, leads, and supervisors are high school or college students.

ConsThey play extremely annoying music. There is a 20 minute process of walking from the parking lot, clocking in or out at hr, and going through a security checkpoint that you are not paid for at the start and end of your shift.

Great place to work, horrible pay

Marketing and Promotions (Former Employee)
Houston, TX

I worked at Six Flags full-time for more than 5 years

ProsFriendly people, you can learn a variety of jobs from retail, food, marketing, etc. The knowledge you gain about business in general will help you in any career move you make. Plenty of opportunities for cross training in different departments. Overall a great employer. They need to get updated on pay scale to keep the good employees. Also, great opportunities for transferring if you want to move to another state. They have many locations.

ConsPay is very low for the work you do. No or horrible benefits

Advice to Senior ManagementPay increases for performance to keep good employees

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
