    Generally positive

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsOpportunity to present ideas if you can find the right receptive ear. Decent work/life balance. OK compensation. Unique business outlook that is on a strong upswing.

ConsLess flexible time scheduling than should be required. Little opportunity for growth. Advancement is very insular. Work can become repetitive. Too many cooks for most projects. Arbitrary rules that defy logic. Different rules apply to different members of company.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere's too many walls between departments. Remove some and collaboration will flourish resulting in stronger work.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Assistant Manager (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsLearn a lot of management duties as an assistant

Cons- Very OId school with numerous procedures
    - Although they say they hire within - I know about 3-4 stores have hired a new manager = and not one came from being a Skechers Assistant

Advice to Senior ManagementFollow through with SM's to make sure they are developing a pool of strong future managers

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Trade Finance Specialist (Former Employee) Manhattan Beach, CA

ProsExcellent corporate discount, excellent parties, no dress code, growing company, fun work environment. Takes great care of employees with parties, catering on a regular basis.

ConsExpected to make miracles out of barely anything. Extremely political company, Raises were not given often, no room for advancement, Terminates employees for not living up to unrealistic goals and tasks

Advice to Senior ManagementNeeds to stop having so much politics, appreciate people that really want to be team players, hire employees that have compassion for the job.

Good place to work as Management crew

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsFast growing company in Texas region. Empowerment to Management.

ConsSomewhat political for moving up opportunities. If you are not "Skechers image" you will not move up in the chain.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within should be a stronger based decision.

    Proschallenging, great conventions for management,

Consnot very organized when it comes to receiving merchandise, and distributing on time. very out dated with computer systems, no emails, no communication with other stores but by phone.

    Everyday is a roller coaster.

    Sales Associate (Current Employee)

ProsThe amazing coworkers that I get to work with, amazing assistant manager, employee discounts, being around shoes all the time.

ConsEmployees get overlooked for promotions, no one gets promoted unless someone leaves or quits, the pay, they expect you to do so much but with barely any pay, employees are not important, you're just a number to the company, the company is money hungry.

Advice to Senior ManagementEveryone can see that you're just being fake and you dont really care about your employees at all, you're just trying to cover your butt,

Not a bad place to work at all, but the pay is not great.

    Assistant Manager (Former Employee)

ProsGreat product, passionate employees, awesome discount, great team atmosphere, can be a really fun place to work. If you are full time they offer great benefits, a large amount of vacation and sick time, and affordable and good health insurance. Depending on your type of store and volume commission can be decent. You end up building some very strong sales skills here.

ConsVery low hourly pay for the amount of work expected. You will routinely be doing a job or several jobs above your paygrade but never actually promoted. There is a lot of turnover because of the low pay, so if you have a car you can expect to be going and helping out other stores constantly. They do reimburse you for mileage but it can become exhausting. Company can be disorganized on an operational level, needs more consistency with training initiatives. The payroll allotted is not enough to efficiently do what is expected

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage promoting from within. There are amazing people internally that always seem to get passed up. The pay needs to be a lot higher, especially for assistant managers. Do more development for people in the company other than store managers

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Okay for the time being

    Second Assistant Manager (Current Employee)

    ProsEasy work, good life/work balance

ConsSlow systems, constant errors/computer crashes, low pay compared to other retailers, 2nd and some 1st Assistant Managers are not full time so no benefits but still the added responsibility.
