Pros
  • Great core values, with a great focus on customer experience (in 4 reviews)

  • Very Easy job expect in a huge store with no hours then it becomes quite the challenge more workload on less ppl for same amount of money (in 4 reviews)

Cons
  • There is a lot of turnover because of the low pay, so if you have a car you can expect to be going and helping out other stores constantly (in 7 reviews)

  • At Store Manager level, there's not much room for advancement within the company unless you are willing to relocate to California (in 4 reviews)

    Pros

I never thought I would enjoy working in the shoe side of retail sales, but I did. Great team, commission and base pay was offered in the malls, but NOT cut-throat. Got transferred to Warehouse where I learned even more. Management is down to earth and accommodating to your needs as best as they can be, and many are well-versed in fashion, so stay on top of current trends in order to best help customers.

    Cons

Upon transfer however, I didn't get an adjustment in my pay to compensate for my loss in the commission I would have earned at the mall. My pay as an assistant manager was cut drastically.

    Advice to Management

Would be great if District Management took more time to spend one on one with middle-management and associates to decipher future goals. SOME of us have extensive resumes in sales and would have loved more opportunities to go beyond the store level.

    Pros

Flexible, Relaxed, Diverse. This company is passionate about their product and keeping their customers 100% happy.

    Cons

Too much turnover. I've seen so many people come and go. The company needs to figure out a way to drive their employees

    Advice to Management

Work hard to bring a balance between being a superior and a regular coworker. It's great to be work friends, but you don't want to lose authority.

    Pros

In the summer, prepare to work a lot of hours. This is a great job for someone who wants to spend their summer saving up money. There's also plenty of room for advancement in the company.

    Cons

Overall, it was a pretty good place to work. I would've liked a little more schedule flexibility, however.

    Advice to Management

I honestly don't really have any advice to management.

    Pros

    - Great coworkers/staff. - Friendly and helpful management and training. - Flexible hours, good for a high school or college job. - When business is slow there aren't as many hours to go around.

    Cons

    - Can't generally get more than 25 hrs./week unless you're an assistant manager. - Much of the experience is dependent on what kind of manager you have (mine is great, but I'm sure not all are). - Corporate is unrealistic and seems to put unfair amounts of pressure on management for things that are out of their control and would rather hassle/harass managers rather than understand their situations.

    Advice to Management

    - Keep doing what you're doing; hiring good people and trying your best to keep employees happy. - As for corporate, be more realistic. We can't make more people come in to buy shoes if you keep running the same crappy sales for 6months straight.
