I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I love the flexibility of work hours. The upper management has done a great job acclimating me to the retail management needs of Skechers.

    Cons

Not really a "con" but sales in general is a tough gig. You have to exert yourself physically and mentally while concentrating on maximizing crew efficiency.

    Pros

They are very willing to promote from within the company. They are also very willing to work with your schedule.

    Cons

The corporate side of the business can be very out of touch and oblivious to some of the task and problems that come with running an actually store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should pay attention to the hard work of those the manage.

I worked at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good, wonderful training on how to run a buisness, great employee 50 % discount twice a month.

    Cons

No work life balance, commission structure constantly changing. Other than that not to many cons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun, fast paced culture. You get to sell amazing, innovative footwear for a company that is continually reinventing itself. I have seen many success stories of associates advancing quickly..

    Cons

Any cons you would find in any retail setting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more aware of how middle management is or is not developing field management. There is a lot of wasted talent at the store level. Great talent is being acquired from outside, but it is to the determent of current loyal, talented and tenured employees.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great customers
    Right next to the beach
    Great discounts
    Great location
Friendly people no matter where you are.
Everyone had a cute dog. HOT MEN! Wooo

    Easy advancement
    Easy money

    Cons

Very very very low pay. I like the location but my management team isn't professional at all. Some come in drunk, half drunk, foul language, says improper sexual things, late, and not ready to work. Commission isn't the best. Some customers are snobby. Rich people with nothing to do but blow money aka housewives. Half naked teens during US open. TERRIBLE PARKING!!!! All the nearby restaurants are over priced. They will not hire you if you do not have the "Skechers look", basically what my manager told me was if you are not attractive they will not hire you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what your management team is saying and doing. And don't just hire off looks, but off experience. Looks won't get you too far. Pay MORE. STOP CHANGING VISUALS EVERY week! And stop damaging out shoes so much, you use over 30 pairs of shoes for the windows for 2-3 weeks then throw them away, that's a waste. Find a better way to showcase visuals without damaging out shoes so often.

I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There are many great things about the company including very flexible scheduling and requested time off, hardworking co-workers and a solid store team, great management who are all very involved, and a solid company foundation with awesome core values and ethics.

    Cons

There aren't too many cons except for the amount of hours scheduled, which is for 2nd Assistant Managers, usually 15-25. The wages are mediocre; not too bad but definitely lower than most other retail employees with management positions.

    Pros

work-life balance, learn great customer service skills, great training skills

    Cons

not much promotion from within. needs to hire more employees!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

promote more from within, there is a lot of good employees that work for the company that usually get over looked for outsiders.
