    I worked at Snyder's-Lance full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

when I joined it was a small company, privately held. They hired highly experienced people to act in as entrepreneurs
    to grow the company.

    Cons

Going puplic, they seem to have forgotten their past success, everything is about wall street now.

    Doesn't Recommend

    I worked at Snyder's-Lance

    Pros

Local managers always were willing to help. Always done by a reasonable hour. The hours were great.

    Cons

We are independent contractor but they want everything done the corporate way. Want you to be frito lay but we pay for everything. Management want it run corporate but we are not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit treating the independentsame like they are independent because we weren't allowed to make decisions on what accounts to deal with.

I have been working at Snyder's-Lance full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice People, Relatively Safe Job, Interesting Changes as we continuously Grow.

    Cons

There seems to be a ceiling for most employees - multiple attempts for raises and promotions result in different excuses and promises. It is pretty safe to work here, which is nice, but those looking for career growth might be better suited starting somewhere else, initially at least.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees just a little better even and you will see the difference, there are still many die-hard supporters of this company here, just work on paying us up to market average or better and you will see huge improvements.

    Pros

    Cons

Being charged interest from Snyder when purchasing goods for your business, territory being unclear and disorganized, management very limited on knowledge of takeover or Snyder Management practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the employee as a human being. Be willing to work with people who want to succeed.
