I have been working at Socalgas full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great benefits, and on the job training. For engineering, job is fast pace and demanding from the customers.
Cons – Job Advancement isnt great. job promotions are sometimes located in facilities not within the region. job duties get to be repetitive and sometimes will get boring.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Socalgas part-time for less than a year
Pros – Paid training provided. Many opportunities for advancement are available once you start working with the company. After only a few months of employment, you will be eligible to enter other branches of the company if you pass the examinations.
Cons – As a part-time employee, it is very difficult to qualify for health benefits because you must accrue a set amount of hours over a year, but the minimum hours required to qualify is set too high.
Advice to Senior Management – Health benefits should be given to all part-time employees, regardless of accumulated work hours.

I have been working at Socalgas
Pros – You get a pension. You can also go anywhere in the company. Management can be tough - as in there is a ton of work to do, but the pay is worth it.
Cons – You have twice as much work as you can do. It's super hard to get into the company. It's best to start as a contractor, meter reader, or a call center rep.
Advice to Senior Management – It would be great if you hired more people so that the ones you have don't have too much work to do.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I worked at Socalgas
Pros – A great place to work if you want to be overpaid and underworked. I came from a non-profit organization and the work load at SCG was nothing comparatively.
Cons – Sometimes it got boring. It is a "who you know" more than a "what you know" for advancement
Advice to Senior Management – Keep helping employees learn and grow. it will benefit everyone
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
