    Pros

Internal innovations are strongly pushed along with vba. Creating your own solutions to problems is very rewarding in a MacGyver esque sort of way.

    Cons

Acclimate to the culture or be an outsider. French will be spoken so the quicker you learn the better off you will be

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the time and the constant turnover. Thank you for your mixed communications. Thank you for the anonymous surveys that could no way make anyone feel like they were anonymous

    Pros

Stable Company, will still be in existence in 5 years

    Cons

Refusal to add the necessary head count even with increasing regulation, refusal to increase salaries, cutting back on bonuses/promotions while increase CEO compensation 18%

    Advice to Management

Appreciate that the bonus pools were limited and there was notification of it, but over-stating the lower bonuses while increasing the CEO compensation that is government-appointed is a depressing poor place to work with way too many layers of middle management who do not do their workload but push it down to their underlings.

    Pros

Multicultural, Less structured so more hands on experience across more teams, work hours can be more forgiving compare to other US banks

    Cons

Chaotic hiring process, top-heavy firm structure with a lot fewer young employees, social circles are readily visible and might be hard to break in for non-french speakers.

    Pros

Quite a few smart people, wider job responsibilities compared to American banks, less likely to lay off people than American banks.

    Cons

A very nepotist environment that promotes French nationals from a few select French schools. Links to Paris HQ are a must for serious advancement. Lower salaries than in American banks. Much slower career progression compared to American banks. Very very bureaucratic.

  10. French culture is difficult in the US

    Pros

Compare to other IB, overall a lot of people with excellent education

    Cons

1- if you do not belong to the "family" forget to obtain a key position in your career at SG
2- it's not an issue for your manager not to explore all your Potentiel : a waste of talent !

    Advice to Management

Be more diverse and lesson to people with experience from other IB
