Current Employee – been working at Sodexo full-time for less than a year
Pros – Easiest job I have ever had, it is only about 4 hours worth of work in an 8 hour shift. I never see my boss since I am night shift, I do not have a lead to report to. Only see my boss once a week at most.
Cons – Was lied to during my interview, told it was going to be a 2nd shift job off weekends, instead to my surprise after training they changed my hours to 3rd shift and work weekends. I have to be there every weekend but none of the management ever is. Management made the schedules like this because they are too lazy to give people rotating weekends. Management is disengaged from the employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat employees with respect

Current Employee – been working at Sodexo part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Diversity in employees. Convenient place.
Cons – No raise, so very little pay. No appropriate training. No guidance. Lack of organization.
Advice to Senior Management – care about your employees cuz a lot of them are unhappy. Give employee raises once a year. I have only gotten a $.80 in the four years I have worked there. Provide appropriate training to new employees. Provide workers with the tools they need to make their job right : e.g if you provide recipes make sure to check that all the ingredients are there too.

Former Employee – worked at Sodexo part-time for more than a year
Pros – Easy job, pleasant co-workers, flexible with my school schedule, management allowed autonomy and did not micro-manage.
Cons – Low pay, could not get a promotion to management despite a culinary degree, a bachelor's degree in business and over 10 years experience as a chef manager.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice to recruiters, HR and hiring managers: Make it easier for advancement. Recognize your employee's accomplishments and contributions to the company... don't ignore performance reviews when current employees seek promotions.

Current Employee – been working at Sodexo
Pros – The pay rate for my postion with Sodexo compared to the same postion at my last job, (starbucks) is much better (about a $4/hr. raise) and its less stressful due to the fact that its less busy.
Cons – There's not very much room to advance in the company. There is a definite gap between "the workers" and "management" because the management doesnt really talk to or associate themselves with the workers who dont have a "management" title.
Advice to Senior Management – If you have an opening in a position that you cant seem to get filled, and you have a current employee that simply asks about what the job description is... Dont giggle and tell your employee that they're not qualified because they need a degree and experience. Its unprofessional as the head of HR and it doesnt look good on you when the current employee proves to you that they are qualified because of experience and they have a degree.

Former Employee – worked at Sodexo
Pros – Pay is acceptable
Company over all is progressive with technology, marketing, and training for managers not for hourly staff.
Cons – Paperwork expected is ridiculous considering the time you are supposed to be connecting with clients /customers and hourly workers.
New projects, audits are handed down 10-15x yearly by Sodexo and 8-20x yearly by your client. Stay on top of it all (with daily service )and a smile or your out of the club.
Advice to Senior Management – Dont sacrifice hard working , loyal workers for the price of a clients' whim.
Back up management once in a while when the umpteenth non food service related request comes in from a client instead of squeezing the life out of your team. Show some respect for the managers.
