Former Employee – worked at SolarCity full-time for less than a year

ProsSeems like a cooperative, innovative, friendly place at first...but that's only an illusory first impression! Not many pros once you actually get past the first week.

ConsAmbivalent management that throws staff under the bus to protect their own skins, pressure to make unrealistic quota/pipeline numbers, absolutely no support from managment, failure to adhere to company's own stated values. Low pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementGrow up, care about people, actually manage, don't play so many politics, too much focus on maintaining public image of company while operations and profits are really under-performing.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsNice co-workers, founders seem approachable, depending on which department you are from.

ConsSame sentiment as all the reviews before mine. Over worked, under paid, fired after a year because young in experienced management does not know how to treat people. Iam not a number. I did my job with very satisfactory results, but was told I'm not doing enough. They best you down, over work you, then fire you to hire someone for thousands less.

Advice to Senior ManagementP&L, you should no better, your management personell, or lack there of is killing your company. There is no way to speak up with out being fired. I really worked hard but was told by the UAG director and my manager "You aren't rewarded for effort." I wood never refer anyone to work got this company. I will follow up with an email.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at SolarCity

Pros- Flexible schedule (kind of: they are flexible about your personal appointments and such)
- People are great, met wonderful friends
- Standard working hours, no OT expected

Cons- Different departments have different rules, not unified
- Management is bad, they don't listen to what employees have to say

Advice to Senior Management- More transparency would me nice.
- Not to say one thing and act against it afterwards.
- Don't talk to us like we're five year olds.
