    Pros

Salaries are above average and work life balance is encouraged. The company is going through drastic changes to be prepared for the future and if well positioned could operate like a tech company. The new CEO has a forward thinking vision. I know many old timers gripe and moan about the company, but they are out of touch of what other companies are like and that they have it good. These negative attitudes are starting to see the light or move on...

    Cons

Still some old mentalities that make your job more difficult

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and make sure visionaries and outside the box thinkers are rewarded, and not the old guard people that only manage up.

    Pros

Old school company and old school benefits (pension, 401(k) matching) and good health insurance.

    Cons

Management heavy. Too much HR red tape for annual reviews.

    Pros

I absolutely loved my job. The benefits were fantastic, they supported a questioning attitude and clear and concise communication. They focused on safety, teamwork and promoted further education.

    Cons

Engineers should have really thought through buying the "new and improved" steam generators. They should have used a more conservative approach and stuck with the design that worked.

    Advice to Management

Re-open the plant, I want my job back...

    Pros

I've been with SCE for over 5-years and I have had a terrific experience. I've loved the team-focused culture. There is no back-stabbing, and everyone is generally interested in helping each other do well. There is a strong focus on career development as well as having a successful work-life balance. I can definitely see myself staying here for the rest of my career.

    Cons

The company is undergoing a lot of change, which may be difficult for some folks. However, I believe leadership has the company headed in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Continue the strong focus on developing a positive work environment and empowering people to grow, take on new responsibility, and have ownership of their work.
