I have been working at Southwest Behavioral Health Services full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

SBH is a good ethical company and was able to remain afloat during state budget cuts that threatened this area of service.

    Cons

Admin is far removed from the stresses and realities of the service sites. Employees don't feel heard when we request better working environment. Feel like "just a number." Also, workers who are in direct care positions need more sick time, because we work with people and therefore get sick! 48 hours per year is not enough, and it does not roll over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your direct care employees.

I have been working at Southwest Behavioral Health Services

    Pros

Compensation, vacation, 403b, insurance, some people are great to work with

    Cons

No advancement opportunities in last 4 yrs, some supervisors prefer not to praise the good work their staff do, office politics can sometimes be downright asinine and ridiculous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All Workers deserve praise when they do good work. People in leadership positions should once in a while show genuine appreciation and spend more time getting to know their staff. Sitting in an office all day and being distant just shows how little you care about the people who work hard just to make you look good and take all the credit. Share some of that credit around with your staff.
