A great place to work because of the people who I worked with.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Seattle, WA

I worked at Speakeasy

ProsSpeakeasy was a relaxed and casual place to work. The people were professional yet fun to work with. Overall I thought the work environment gave me a positive experience.

ConsWhile Speakeasy made attempts to provide competitive pay and benefits I feel that they were hampered by lack of capital.

Advice to Senior ManagementI believe that management needs to expand capital expenditures to give their employees access to the latest tools to keep them competitive in the market place.

A good place to work to develop your career

Director (Current Employee)
Seattle, WA

I have been working at Speakeasy

ProsAs a smaller company, less than 500 employees, Speakeasy allows great opportunity to make your contributions to the company really count. You are given challenging assignments and projects while being allowed enough room to learn and grow. In a short period of time, you will soon get to meet and work with all of the key players within the organization. The senior leadership team is approachable and listens to the feedback given.

ConsSpeakeasy's pay is on the lower end of the scale for comparable titles in the management ranks, but fair to average for individual contributors.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that all decisions take into account all employees, as well as, the revenue bottom line. Take more time to communicate to the team in either the company intranet or a regular news letter.

Good place to work, especially if you're not very experienced in networking

Business Support Representative (Current Employee)
Seattle, WA

I have been working at Speakeasy

ProsVery laid back and liberal atmosphere, flexible as well. Good benefits. Many opportunities within the company (although I haven't advanced yet because I haven't found a good fit.)
Excellent location in down town Seattle just a couple blocks away from the market and very close to all bus routes.
Company provides transportation pass.

ConsDue to the location, everyone gets seated together. There are no cubicles or many offices (except for the higher-ups) so they literally have tables next to each other and people sit inches away from each other. Kinda looks like a computer lab. No sound barriers so it gets kinda loud when you're on the phone with someone and people next to you are talking or yelling etc...

Advice to Senior ManagementI am very satisfied with working at Speakeasy and I really like it. I am getting tired of doing phone support though, so I am interested in other opportunities within the company.
