I have been working at Spectra Energy

    Pros

Great environment, given your own cubicle and laptop, work with other interns in a very similar position as yourself. Get to work on multiple projects and at the end you present it to the top management and VP of Supply Chain

    Cons

Sometimes it can be slow, not always a lot to do, it was their first time doing an internship with Supply Chain majors so you have to bare with them for they are learning at the same time as you.

Very people friendly, collaborative people - great benefits and competitive pay - on site gym - an aging workforce with 25% of the people currently retirement eligible so that equates into great career opportunities over the next few years. Very ethical company which supports community service.

Although things have improved, management is reluctant to add more staff so workloads can be heavy at times.

    Pros

Great for starting out and gaining experience, especially for those just graduating from college or seeking a change of career.

    Cons

    Highly political
Anyone who is non republican or tea party need not apply
If your not religious you will stick out like a sore thumb
Expect rules/regulations to be applied only if its in managements favor
Do not use the supposedly anonymous ethics line as they actively try to find out who called, emailed etc
Type B personalities are very unwelcomed in the environment
Passive bullying is very much present

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow the rules behind closed doors as well as when they're open.
