    Cons

HORRIBLE PLACE to work at. They treat you like a statistic. You nothing but a number. They do not care about you at all. If you work to slow they will write you up. The pay isn't very good either

    Pros

There are not any Pros that can be said for this company at the location in Kinston NC.

    Cons

Many.. Managers and up seemed to not know what they were doing. All of the departments worked against each other and management would not back up employees.

    Advice to Management

Restructure leadership and get rid of all those that got sent from KS.

    Pros

Great salary and benefits. Ability to flex your time and make your own hours in the salary would. But beware before you are "stuck" because of high pay.

    Cons

Where to begin? I have worked in supply chain at Spirit for 7+ years. The company has changed so much since I started. Due to so many bad decisions after the split from Boeing that continue to lose the company money Spirit is cash poor. The last couple years the new upper management has tried to better this with layoffs and early retirement offers. So many people have left that the rest of us are drowning with work. And more keeps being piled on by micro-managers who don't care to understand. Each organization is trying to meet their individual budgets so everyone literally wants to pass the buck. The "one team, one Spirit" motto doesn't hold true. Everyone is out to cover their own backs and doesn't look at the whole picture because of unrealistic expectations. Management does not care about the happiness of the employees. And most do not understand the business they are trying to run. People are constantly thrown under the bus at Spirit. Employees are blocked by their management from taking internal transfers that they want. I wouldn't recommend working out there to anyone.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees. Try to learn the area you are managing. Care about the happiness of employees and the career paths they want to take.

    Pros

People working there were good people.

    Cons

TThere was lack of leadership and training. I have never experienced a company that you point out a problem with the process and they acknowledge that its a problem and then do nothing but complain about it rather than fix it. Total lack of professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Quit changing vendors to save a nickel when it cost you dollars in the long run. Address the internal problems before you start trying to run your suppliers business for them.

    Pros

A lot of very good employees that are very very good workers. Good benefits. Paid time off.

    Cons

Management stinks. Do as I say, not as I do. Management underbid every one of their new contracts. Didn't have a clue what they were doing. Now we are paying the price for it.

    Advice to Management

Weed out managers that play out their sexual fantasies with subordinates. I know you know about this crap. HR just looks the other way. I figure most of HR are doing it also. The ship is sinking!

    Pros

    Cons

I don't even know where to begin. Spirit is the most dysfunctional insane asylum I've ever seen. If you are a young talented professional, look elsewhere! If you are crotchety and worthless, this might be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves, you deserve it!

    Pros

Largest employer in Wichita, Ks, most co-workers are nice but severely overworked, underpaid, and fearful of their job and company future.

    Cons

The company is like a ship without a rudder. Executive leadership has short term vision which impacts business decisions. This results in repeated layoffs of experienced employees, financial losses, and increased workload, stress and turmoil for the remaining workforce. I would not recommend working for or investing in this company until a new leadership team is hired to work with employees to correct the management culture and build a long term stategic plan that is realistic, profitable and beneficial for employees and investors.

    Advice to Management

Hire a new leadership team to work with employees for the future well being of the company. Stop laying off experienced workers to cover for bad business decisions.

    Pros

Before current management, Spirit was a great place to be creative, innovative, and productive. Used to be an excellent place to learn several facets of the business. I became very well-rounded in my tenure there as a manager.

    Cons

New management has eliminated creativity in exchange for dumbing down processes, which in turn drives down wages. This has been consistent throughout the value stream and forces key players to leave the company. Pay is not competitive to similar jobs in local area. Expectations are not clear from upper management, and has driven bad behaviors at middle management level.

    Advice to Management

Communicate the plan. The plan currently is not clear, concise, and in my opinion this is intentional. The key to performance is employee engagement. The business model currently in use is cannot be long-term, as there is virtually no information shared, so many in middle management are left to interpret what intent "might" be in lieu of an actual Mission Statement.

    Pros

Large Backlog of Boeing Orders will keep the doors open.

    Cons

If you are too old and or making too much money they will drop you in a heart beat.

    Advice to Management

You can't keep hiring 2 for 1's. Namely, you can't expect to replace someone with 30 years experience with 2 "young guns" off of the street. The math doesn't work. Look at your latest 587 million loss for example.

    Pros
