    Pros

    - Great company culture and business model - Very profitable airline and growing like crazy - Have not met one pilot who is not happy - Great aircraft to call an office - Pay is pretty good after the 1st year - 4 days off minimum and other scheduling flexibility - Great benefits

    Cons

    - Need more infrastructure: crew schedulers, gates, etc. - Don't rinse and repeat and sell out your support staff (ground crew, gate agents) - First year pay is low for level of experience - The customers need more communication at the gates during delays, cancellations, help desks. (Again infrastructure and support staff)

    Advice to Management

    - Saving money on every corner is great, but if you squeeze a little too hard your going to be less profitable in the long run. Pump up all support staff, pay them a decent wage to retain great workers. Work with ALPA to get a industry standard contract instead of dragging it out.

    Pros

Challenging, lots of upward growth opportunities. Fun coworkers. Salaries are getting better. Love the COO - very down to earth.

    Cons

Growing so fast it's hard to keep up with the amount of work.

    Advice to Management

Tone down some of the advertising - I'm all about fun and being different, but it's embarrassing sometimes with ads that are full of sexual innuendos.

    Pros

    - Company is growing like crazy so you will have high seniority in a short time which is so uncommon in the airline industry ( seniority is everything in the airline industry) - Currently have 70 planes but Spirit just purchased 130 more. - Great Travel benefits (Travel on pretty much any airline not just spirit for free on standby, some family members also fly for free on other airlines for a small fee) - VERY FLEXIBLE, Once you get your monthly schedule you can get rid of as many assignments as you want or add or trade them online (theres no limit) perfect for someone who is in school or has another job. - Brand new, Spacious Airbus airplanes. - The job is so easy because there is no first class or complimentary beverage services so you run through the cabin offering stuff for sale and then have the whole flight to chill. (perfect for someone thats in school or studying) - Very strong union - Have various bases that are really easy to get into (Bases in order from most senior to junior - Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Dallas, Chicago) - One of the best insurance plans for the airline industry. (I only pay 25$ a month for full Dental, Vision, Health and Medical) - AWESOME co workers (Most are younger people since its a newer airline) -Pay Raise coming soon - Spirit puts its flight attendants and pilots in some of the best hotels. (Even better then some of the international airlines) -Rarely see management - One of the most profitable airlines. - Flights go by smoothly because we charge for bags so theres no fuss about carry on items. -Ability to make a lot of money (By Onboard sales commission, Credit card advertisements...ect.)

    Cons

    - Passengers don't understand the business model so they tend to complain, thus causing Spirit to have a bad reputation. - Only flies in North America (not to Europe or Asia) - Don't always have the supplies at hand when needed (like Ice Scoops, or air freshener) - Because the union is so good there are some bad apples that are still around that should have left such a long time ago - Management is so small so its hard to get a response or get in contact when necessary. - Airplanes don't get cleaned like they are supposed to by the airports so you end up cleaning the cabin usually. - You usually have to fly on other airlines when traveling personally because the flights are always so full - No Commuter Clause

    Advice to Management

Make our business model known to customers so they aren't shocked by the fees.

    Pros

    - One of the best contracts in the airline industry. - We sell beverages inflight so you don't have to put up with customers that "expect service" - Commission on all sales - Job Stability. - Great benefits. - You don't sit on reverse long (typically 6 months to a year) - Everyone is young and energetic and fun to work with! - Management is very kind, they have an open door approach. - Company is growing like crazy - You have the potential to make a lot of money (inflight drinks commission, credit card applications, ect...) - Amazing union. - Super nice hotels. - Brand new, flight attendant friendly Airbus 319, Airbus 320 and Airbus 321 jets.

    Cons

    - Since the company is growing like crazy there are some minor growing pains - Lack of ice in some airports - it can be hard to fly for free since the flights are always full. - Most gate agents are unhappy.

    Advice to Management

Keep up what you do! However I wish there was more advertising.

    Pros

Excellent organization. HR is very helpful and accessible. Training is good and thorough. Physical requirements are intense but not limiting. Trust is huge and precision is demanded at every corner. Expect constant supervision by the excellent staff and constant evaluation at every task performed. Lots of overtime is available and flight benefits are the best in the airline industry. The staff is an assembly of Latin, Caribbean and Gringo. They are mainly friendly, energetic and helpful.

    Cons

If you are not able to stay quick on your feet and enjoy daily assessment from a crew of nearly 100 then you may feel overwhelmed. The company trainers gave us the best actions to performing our tasks, if you can't stand up for what you learned in training (the acceptable method) then you may feel pressure from the ding bats. That being said, we already know that there are wise and otherwise in every class. The people quit at an unusual rate, e.g. our last class lost half in one month. I can't say if it was caused by physical or emotional failings. I can only believe that true aviation enthusiasts will have no trouble enjoying the Spirit airline Ultra Low Cost Carrier culture.

    Advice to Management

Your best trainers are like gold. Use them to improve safety and give them as much time as allowed to do more thorough OJT and evaluations with the newbies. Recurrent training with existing Rampers might prevent workman comp claims from arising and will reinforce our practice of continuous improvement.
