    Pros

Friendly work atmosphere. Managers and team leaders are very responsible and fair. Flexible work hours. If you work hard you will have the opportunity to be promoted.

    Cons

Corporate seems to be untimely and overloads management with conflicting tasks. For example, even though receiving is cluttered because of lack of space for back stock, corporate continues to send an unreasonable amount of freight even though it cannot possibly go out on the floor.

    Advice to Management

Corporate could be a bit more organized in the way they deliver merchandising tasks to management. Other than that, great job.

    Pros

    Employee discount
    Good team
    Be around sports.
Coworkers are all mostly fun and respectful people.

    Cons

    Payroll cut all the time
Loyalty membership rewards program is pushed to hard and is so to make corporates job easier for market and consumer research but there is no compensation for associates signing up customers but store managers and district managers receive bonus based upon high number of customer sign ups.
most of the managers task projects out and dont contribute as much as they should.

    Advice to Management

Train all employees continously and do away with the yearly review and have consistant reviews and involvement with associates all year round. this will be a positive force to get associates to buy into the company and its goals. Stop cutting payroll hours just to be deemed profitable.

    Pros

Pay was ok , great Co workers, benefits, discounts

    Cons

Too much work for all employees , too much pressure for associates to do their job. no recognition, just criticism. Favoritism. If you kiss enough butt, you ll get promoted otherwise plan to stay where you are.

    Advice to Management

Stop the micromanaging. The whole reason of having managers is to manage, don't micro manage leaving managers powerless to do their job. Stop playing favorites and recognize the people that work hard.

    Pros

Very good flexibility with hours, team work between coworkers is amazing, always doing something but never bored.

    Cons

Very tough on the extra protection plans and online ordering, greeting has to be the same for every person that walks in and gets repetitive, management sometimes doesn't communicate efficiently between one another, and causes some things not to get done due to miscommunication between management.

-managers seem to be disinterested in
-low pay compared to industry average
-lack of inventory to successfully do job
-no reward system for doing better job than coworkers

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Good employee discount. You get to meet interesting people because it is at the mall.

    Cons

I have been working there for two years now and I started out making $8.50 an hour. Within the two years I received a $0.20 increase in pay. Employees are now being hired in at $9 an hour. I have never called off I feel like the least they could do is pay me the same as the people are being hired in at.

    Advice to Management

When the team members are consistently complaining about the same manager something needs to be done. We feel helpless being bullied by the same guy all the time. We complain to the manager above him and still nothing happens.

    Pros

Excellent Discount Policy. You always get a good look at the numbers so no surprises. Bonus structure is in line with other companies and it gets paid out monthly.
Reward program for customers is pretty good.

    Cons

Stingy with payroll. Always got to do more and more with less and less. Extremely difficult to retain talent. The most support you will get is the worn down lines of "it is what it is," and "call another store that is getting it done."
POS system is pre-historic; therefore, return transactions take forever.
There is a huge disconnect between corporate directors and the reality on the trenches.

    Advice to Management

Invest in associates. One can not retain good associates when you can only schedule people three times a week.
Training is inadequate. Why push for a short computer training and expect associates to be "certified" in technical stuff???
You can not be running stores with a 4% payroll to sales and expect high customer satisfaction. There is no body in the stores to assist.

    Pros

    Great discount
    Strong and engaged Executive group
Discounts on local sport event tickets

    Cons

    Disconnected department
    Weak leadership within department
Business values aren't core throughout departments
Salaried employees are expected to work much over 40 years
    Minimal room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Everything doesn't need to be treated as an emergency
Assist your quality employees in getting to where they want to go as opposed to dumping more work on them and making it a place that they don't want to come back to
There is a lot of potential to make this a fun place to work, at the end of the day we sell shoes
