I worked at Sprint full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The pay was decent for the location. Free cell phone service as an employee.

    Cons

Even though the company, your manager, the director, and everyone above you emphasized customer service to the customer, the reality of it was that they didn't care. Here's why: When Network Vision started rolling out, we essentially were told to tell the customer that we would put in a ticket to have their towers optimized, etc for them. In reality, either the ticket would do NOTHING, or the ticket would never get filled out in the first place (what's the point, it did nothing anyways). This went on for over a year. Throughout this time, the customer's were getting horrible service, and instead of being honest and up front with the customer, we had to essentially lie to them.

Additionally, the stock has plummeted horribly since I have left employment there. I am not sure it will ever recover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just be honest with the customer instead of lying to them about the state of their service and how long it would be terrible.

    I worked at Sprint

    Pros

Benefits start from day 1. Free phone service. Pay ok, depending on how much you sell.

    Cons

No room for growth. Favoritism. Horrible management. Horrible work morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate employees who are your "Go To" people. Learn how to do things yourselves instead of depending on your reps to do it & teach others how. Stop being chummy with reps. Stop the Favoritism. Store Manager & Asms need to learn how to interview & hire the correct people for this job, instead of hiring people who keep quitting & dont last more than 6 months to 1 year. Highest turn around at any store. Get out on the sales floor instead of being in your office all day with your feet literally up on the desk while on facebook. Stop bad mouthing reps behind their backs to other reps. Learn how to deal with people, both customers & reps.

    Pros

This is a company with tremendous potential. There are so many interesting things going on with their 2013 acquisition by a Japanese corporation and growing possibilities in the cell phone industry.

    Cons

There are so many people on the OP, KS campus who have been there FOREVER and are really comfortable and really unmotivated. Why do we do things? Because we've always done them that way! Sigh. Most of my colleagues were phoning it in until retirement. It was completely uninspiring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My managers didn't manage. They hid in their offices, turned a blind eye to very serious problems and to avoid having to actually get involved, allowed staff to get completely out of hand.

    Pros

If you are young and in college working toward a degree this is a nice place to do mind numbing work that will not require you to do any thinking.

    Cons

Management plays the favoritism game blatantly, even giving certain employee's extra PTO or time off and writing off while firing (illegally) employees who have l FMLA because their supervisor may not have liked them. If you get hired for the sales support role do not expect a raise at all, ever. I worked in this role for 4 years and received a $.24 cent raise in my entire time and was told as if it was something to be proud of that we were not allowed to share our raise amounts with fellow employees. If you can stand the petty environment until you attain a particular goal this would be the place to be but if not, it may not be worth the time, stress or energy. Please be aware that this is regarding the Customer Service group as well as the National Sales Support role and is not indicative of technical support or other roles that may be available there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management in National Sales Support and Customer Service needs to take their role more seriously as they deeply impact agent’s lives with their unprofessionalism and with their inability to run the departments smoothly.

    Pros

The discounted cellular service and occasional free handsets.

    Cons

Little to no opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the company would benefit from organizing clear paths for promotion. Many channels are dead-end jobs with no opportunity to advance.

    I worked at Sprint

    Pros

    you get paid on time

    Cons

unethical behavior forced by management on employees
anti-religious (in particular anti-Christian and Jewish) and anti-family attitude by management
disregard for employee health by forcing southern California employees to wear all black in the heat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider diversity training for upper management so they understand the broad range of diverse cultures, religions and people that work for the company. Treat customers as customers, instead of forced numbers. Don't allow "cherry picking" to occur in big stores so that real sales can be generated and rewarded.

    Pros

    Great people on sales team

    Cons

Over worked and under paid. Company has unrealistic sales goals when they don't have the network to support it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time in the retail stores so you can hear real customers stories and experiences instead of barking orders from corporate from behind a desk when they have no clue what's really going on.
