    Was good now its not

Retail Sales Consultant (Current Employee) Austin, TX

ProsMake your money. If you are a fast talker, know how to upsell, you can....well, used to be able to, make a killing.

ConsFirst off understand, I was a top 10 in my district every month for about a year and then left as soon as I could after things went south. Why?

Poor management, random 6 am meetings multiple times a week, and sprint constantly finds ways for you to make less money.

40 hr per week, but only about 30-32 actually making sales, yet quotas are based off of a 40 hr work week. Why, well so that they can perform random 6 am meetings multiple times per week. Several weeks before I left, I attended 3 two hours meetings, because I had a horrible management team, that staffed with horrible people.

Sales Reps are punished for stores performance even if you are top salesman in the district. Many many times I had to attend 6 am sales training on my day(s) off, due to others poor performance. Nothing makes you hate your job more than being great and getting punished for others poor performance.

    went downhill very quickly

Retail Sales Consultant (Former Employee) South Euclid, OH

Pros*decent perks for employee phone service (free phone line & deals for family & friends)
*proximity of work location to home was great
    *hours werent bad...

Cons*very clear favoritism, which led to interpersonal conflict between employees
*pay less than competitors...then commission structure constantly changing, which led to inability to achieve goals
*archaic sales structure and failure to relate with customer base in area
*management incapable of motivating team to succeed in key areas but are more than willing to sit behind a desk or in the back and do nothing all day
*specific situations where help is required results in "call the manager" because the "person in charge" has no idea how to resolve the matter, creating a big customer disappointment
*systems and tools used to do job often failing

Advice to Senior Management*pay the people more
*get rid of the old "buddy system" and put people in positions that deserve them, not because you owe them a favor
*sales is based off of how you treat people, not how many overpriced items you can plop down in front of a customer and get them to buy. realize this and then you begin to be successful.

ProsThere were no pros for working in the Sprint Call Center. It was basically the survival of the fittest in that hell hole.

ConsPlease fix your network.. A total disgrace to the cell phone industry!

Advice to Senior ManagementLOL. The hell with management.. They are all frauds!!!!

    Job of Sisyphus

    Lead Retail Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsNot very many pros anymore. Hourly pay is decent, benefits are good, upper management are disconnected from reality.

ConsThe retail system is horrible, constantly crashes or other hiccups. National sales support(employee customer service) are often not helpful in these instances. Commissions have been cut drastically, while quotas have been raised drastically. More work for fewer money. They keep piling more and more on the employees, while paying less and less for those who produce results.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your employees more, since SoftBank came to the plate your retail employees have been getting killed on the front lines. Network vision has done nothing but offered worst service to customers, while the quotas have gone through the roof. The past year has been a constant fight to attempt to keep your head above water. What use to be a great job has become a depressing, constant battle of pushing another boulder up the hill, just to have it roll back over on top of you. The commission structure is BROKEN, your top sales producers are making less, and are looking for work with a company who will value their efforts.

    Complete lack of respect.

Account Manager (Former Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

Prosgreat pay for only having a high school diploma. plus you get free phone service.

Consat the call center you go home feeling extremely stressed out because you are not appreciated. The micromanagement is on a whole new level. Customers also abuse you over the phone. And everything you are taught in training is thrown out the window as soon as you get to the floor.

Advice to Senior Managementsupport your employees, create a team atmosphere where the supervisors and RA's RESPECT the team, not threaten them daily

    Horrid

    Sprint Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsThe only pros to working at Sprint were my coworkers and the fact we could buy discounted accessories.

ConsI worked for a preferred retailer of Sprint so my review may vary from those who worked directly for them.

My biggest issue was customer care. The disconnect between them and the sales locations is mind-boggling. They tell the customer what they want to hear on the phone, even if they know a store can't actually satisfy that customer. Then the sales reps have to break the bad news.

We worked 40 hours yet received no real benefits. Anything worthwhile is only given to managers and above. Sick days and vacation days didn't exist for us. Overtime? What's that? I don't know because we'd get written up if we went over 40 hrs.

You never feel as if your job is safe. Upper management is constantly on everyone's backs letting them know how easily you can be replaced.

The pay is not on par with other major carriers either.

Lastly like any retail job, you will have to deal with a fair share of idiots who can't live a day without a cell phone.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemodel some of your stores and pay the reps better.

Account Executive (Current Employee) Vineland, NJ

ProsGreat people in the company to work with in respect to colleagues on your team.

ConsAll clicks.the Nextel mentality exists. people do what ever they have to do to force you to do activations. Total intimidation tactics. Sales Managers working side deals with people on the team - Totally disruptive. management incompetent

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the Director. Complete idiot in the NYC area. Don't buy into the hype of team spirit it is a farce. Management incompetent.
