    Pros

A healthy environment for all employees- you are sure to learn all about healthy living and all the new trends. All employees get a 15% discount on top of all the amazing weekly sales. "Uniform" is a nice, cotton t-shirt.

    Cons

This company is very hard to move up in, starting pay is really low, the managers are micro-managers, if you are a cashier expect to never leave your register, and learn the PLU codes because you will need to know them almost immediately.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't treat your cashiers like kindergarteners, let the cashiers move from the front of the store more often. Cross-training should be implemented more throughout the store.

Current Employee - Grocery Clerk in San Ramon, CA

    Pros

15% discount, a fair amount of training, constant evaluation, daily meetings, diverse and interesting employees, learning about healthy (and trendy) food

    Cons

managers with difficult personalities, low-ish pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers should keep up the high standards, but express more constructive feedback (don't always tear down). This advice is especially directed to the managers who have been with the company for a while because it seemed that they had some sort of ego- or maybe bitterness- and had little sympathy for those who were new.

Current Employee - Bulk Clerk in Whittier, CA

    Pros

15% discount off all products in the store, more-less friendly environment, good values and goals; possibility to move up easily and quickly with a very forward desire.

    Cons

Dead end communication, managers are always running around with their heads cut off, no decency of pay for the required jobs (dollar differences between baggers and clerks) [which essentially is still low because the baggers should be getting paid clerk wages and clerks should be getting paid department head wages]. No training whatsoever, everything is based off of self taught knowledge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speaking on behalf of all employees, please just give us the attention we so desperately deserve - we are here to work for you and be there for you around the clock but just show us some common decency. We want to work harder and "smile" more and be more lively but the way you treat us and make us feel makes us not want to. I'm sure if you actually went out of your way to speak to us and focus on the good within us that we would be a little happier - and I'm sure the upper management lacks that example for you, but in order to make change you must do something different. so try and run a more healthy environment from what the regional managers expect from you. I can assure you with just a slight change in wage and morality that the outcome of your workers moods and work efficiency would improve greatly.

    Pros

great work environment, great store director, great produce, 15 % discount, good benefits package

    Cons

middle management is unreasonable, and unapproachable. communication is horrible, lots of back stabbing managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen carefully to both sides of the story and don't jump to conclusions just to demonstrate support for your managers, develop programs, and stick with them. lots of changes daily, make up your mind, and implement the plan
