I have been working at Sprouts Farmers Market

    Pros

They encourage their employees to better their knowledge in natural health and nutrition. It's a great company to grow with, they always hire and promote from within when applicable. They offer fair pay based on previous years of experience and have a great benefits including in store discounts. Everyone is treated equally by all management. Regional support staff regularly takes part in day to day store activities and treats every employee in every position with respect which I haven't experienced before. Overall it is a great company to work for.

    Cons

There aren't many challenges to working at Sprouts. Some might include working late, holiday and varied shifts. Work week hours can fluctuate or vary based on the sales of individual departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management in this corporation is great. My only advice for them would be to better consider ideas provided by team members to improve store conditions and sales rather than following a general mold for all stores. Not every store is the same and their individual needs should be met.

I worked at Sprouts Farmers Market full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good/great pay wage, good atmosphere, great customers, great natural and organic food selection. I was lucky enough to have a great person as a manager for my department, and they acknowledged my hard work, and rewarded my when appropriately.

    Cons

All upper head managers (all store directors, etc) were a pure image of corporate or money hungry fiends. No manager took time out of their way to help their employees, everything was about profits, ratings, sales, money money money. What once was Sunflower- a locally owned grocery store for peace caring hippies is now Sprout's- a corporation turning into another walmart.
Break times are unscheduled, you have to depend on your manager for when/if you can go on break.
Different locations yield different managers, which means a possible different experience between any one you go to, but every sprout's farmers market is turning for the worse, if you ask me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop trying to become a big corporation and start taking more time to care for employees, and customers. Treat everyone better and it will make the company better.

I have been working at Sprouts Farmers Market full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits are wonderful if you are a full time employee! Saw lots of complaints of benefits for part timers. (You are part time... it is not your career...you shouldn't have full benefits.) 1 week of sick time per year which is pretty great for a grocery store. Great health insurance. 3 plans to choose from, all Blue Cross Blue Shield. Vacation starts at a week a year after 6 months employment. Goes up with time in company. (2 weeks after 3 years, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years). You can use your vacation or cash it out or both. Emergency loans available at no interest. Weekly pay. Dental, vision, STD, LTD...TONS of opportunity for advancement. TONS.We are growing very rapidly. If you are a decent employee, have open availability, you are pretty much guaranteed a promotion. I have worked at other grocery stores and this is by far the best.

    Cons

Not ecstatic with the direction the company is going as we grow. We are going farther and farther from what made Sprouts great. But that is to be expected as is now a public company so the dollar is now the bottom line.

I worked at Sprouts Farmers Market part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Got promoted in only about 3 months. Simple duties. Very flexible with vacations. Ok salery.

    Cons

Simple duties leads to getting stuff done and being bored. Pay was not great but not bad. Slightly above minimum wage for Grocery Clerk, and minimum wage for Courtesy Clerk (Bagger).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the courtesy clerks stuff to do besides bag groceries all day. It is the most "monkey-work" job I've ever had.
