I worked at St. Jude Medical full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

St. Jude medical can be a plesent place to work, they have a employment apreachance week where the put up a big top ten in the parking lot, and have verious active throught the week, they give nice chrismas gives to all salary emplyees, and propet sharing in from of rasies each year.

    Cons

St. Jude is fast pace company, and a demanding company, management doesn’t always listen to their employee. They also have a tendency to move management around in and out of the company. They also have a habit of every few years of laying off employee with higher salary, so its nice that they give raises, but then lay you off when you start making to much. St. Jude has open three oversea office and has start move woke off shore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start listening to your employees, and don't reward them with a layoff after they have worked for many years just because they start earning to much after years of raises.

    Pros

Huge company with growth, area to get managers. Compensation is supposed to be incredible and huge span of areas to go. Great training.

    Cons

Overall meh impression to both people coming in and people staying there. 85 percent retention from an incoming class is good but that is also because they cannot be hired anywhere else.

I have been working at St. Jude Medical full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, few good people to work for, good work-life balance for the most part.

    Cons

They are Re-Active environment; it takes some type of event to make changes.
Management is on a revolving door, upper management doesn't have a clear idea whats going on and lack clear vision.
Seems like they give out Sr. Titles to anyone, however if your a good worker and don't have that title it takes time to move up.
To much upper management to get a clear direction.
To much politics involved, back stabbing in management as well.
CIO keeps creating more and more silo's to match the business, however its all redundant and not needed and huge waste of money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your workers, stop treating them like numbers. start recognizing them for doing a good job on projects.

    Pros

I was fortunate enough to work under a manager who knew how to motivate and inspire me. She got me to do some really good work.

    Cons

There seemed to be a lot of politics at the higher levels of management. Depending on who you work for or with you might or might not be impacted by it.
