I have been working at Standard Pacific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong, supportive culture which leads to great teamwork. Standard Pacific's focus has been on the move up buyer and building a better quality home. It shows in overall customer satisfaction. Merger with Ryland homes will create more diversity.

    Cons

Like any sales position, there is the ongoing pressure of meeting company sales goals. Management works with you though to help meet those goals.

    Advice to Management

To maintain supportive, team oriented environment in merger with Ryland Homes. Also, to continue current benefit package and salary structure.

    Pros

Upper management really cares about lower ranking employees and really encourages growth and educational opportunities. Great benefits packages with 2 weeks starting vacation and a chance to earn more days as you grow with the company. Lot of holidays throughout the year. Always celebrate each employee's birthday. Very fun environment to work in. Lot of social activities provided by the company to foster community between all departments.

    Cons

There are no cons at StanPac

    Pros

The corporate culture nationwide has been very employee friendly, which is not the norm in the building industry.

    Cons

If you don't want to work weekends don't bother. Turnover within the industry is very high in large part due to the hours required.

    Advice to Management

Be considerate of employee's days off. There aren't many as is.
