I worked at Standard Parking full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Worked with some good people, benefits are ok (nothing special)

    Cons

They still want to do business like they are a small company. But they've grown too large, not enough policies in place. Upper management is a "good old boys" club, women in management will find it very difficult to break through.

I have been working at Standard Parking part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I can't think of any. I was desperate for money when I took this job.

    Cons

No set schedule. Lot's of turn-over and skeletal staff. Not allowed to take time off. Usually work seven days with differing shifts. No training. Learn as you go and pay for your mistakes. Start at minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the starting pay. Assign employees to one shift, not any shift that needs filled 24/7 due to "No-Shows". Show some respect for your customers. They are paying premium prices to use our facilities

I worked at Standard Parking full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You'll get to meet some interesting people and the salary was fair

    Cons

No room for growth unless your a friend of management also a pay raise isn't guaranteed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to feedback from employees, their the ones actually doing the job some longer then Standard Parking has had the account, Also management should be willing to learn new thing instead of making it up as they go then penalizing employees for not knowing something that the account manager just made up. Upper management should have monthly meetings with random employees without account managers or supervisors present to make sure everyone is on the same page & happy cause remember a happy employee is a great employee.

I worked at Standard Parking full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The workers are good humble and hard working . You feel like family once your on board. The Pay is Good. Also you can join the union after 3 months n start gaining benefits.

    Cons

Its a job that requires a lot of standing and short breaks to recuperate from the excessive standing. Shifts are unchangeable and management is hard to talk to. Management display Racial Discrimination, Endangered workers, Unsafe work environment, displayed ethnic Hierarchy, and Religious Discrimination. I never found out my job title everyday was a new assignment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check in on the locations unannounced and you'll see more of what is really going.

    Pros

Great people, mostly. Few that are left actually are decent employees trying to make a positive impact.

    Cons

Upper management really lacks directions and morals. No value for great employees who made this division. Past 5 years have brought all efforts of these employees to waste

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously need to revamp the Canadian Division. Company name is now a joke. All good people are gone or leaving.

I have been working at Standard Parking

    Pros

The healthcare options are decent and the lower management is very pleasant. Many worksites have strong staff camaraderie and excellent clients.

    Cons

Low to non-existant opportunities for promotion; management frequently omits information useful or in the best interest of low level employees, employees are often blamed for problems stemming from this practice, guilt and discipline follow from this leading to low level employees being unfairly worked, moved, or denied reasonable requests; general managerial incompetence and conflicting partnerships between management and vendors; payroll mistakes arrise regularly.
