    Decent Job

Easy Tech Expert/Tech Sales Supervisor (Current Employee)
    Grand Rapids, MI

ProsLearned a lot, great managers and associates. Really fun job. Advanced really quick.

ConsLittle pay increase, and little pay at all really. Goals that make little sense, and the structure of management makes little sense as well.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Staples FACILITY Supplies leads the marketplace

Facility Supplies Account Consultant (Current Employee)
    Framingham, MA

ProsStaples is no longer just an office supply company. When they bought the company I worked for several years ago, we dreaded being converted to office supplies. Couldn't have been further from the truth. As an industry-leading source of facility, breakroom/coffee, and safety supplies, selling the Staples proposition is easy. With the addition of staplesadvantage.com, we're practically unbeatable.

ConsPeople still think we're just an office supply super-source. We need to work on changing that perception.

Advice to Senior ManagementEliminate the couriers and expand the range of the fleet vehicles.

Warehouse is the place to be!

    Picker/QA/Replen (Former Employee)
    Lithia Springs, GA

ProsHours are consistent, Overtime is great during Holiday rushes. Company is always giving raises, and proper training, take their employees seriously! Company throws the best parties and picnics, Audits and Inventory weekends they treat us like royalty!

ConsOnly 3 very short breaks, but manageable if you eat ok and stay hydrated at work. Warehouse conditions can be very extreme in the summer and winter, but company provides water, ice packs, heaters, and popsicles.

Advice to Senior ManagementHR is the best and cant be beat!! Wendy is the go to lady, re hire needs to be adjusted.

Great company with ambitious growth plan.

    Inside Account Manager (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsStaples is a dynamic organization with the desire to sell more than the office supply products they are known for. They are not afraid to pump money into initiatives that they feel have the potential to help them grow. There are numerous growth opportunities and they develop sales people well.

ConsDefinitely have a philosophy of "progression before perfection" that sometimes leads them to jump into opportunities without giving enough time to beta test them. Sometimes can be slow to respond if changes need to be madfe after initial implementation

    Overall a decent experience.

    Accounts Receivable (Former Employee)
    Broomfield, CO

ProsI worked very independently. Great benefits. Professional environment. Plenty of resources for resolving problems. Great food/cafeteria. Morale events that were fun and provided a good break.

ConsFor a company that sells office supplies, they had the worst chairs and equipment for employees. I was really surprised at that. The closer layoffs got, the more dismal the atmosphere became. Also, there were some barriers and politics to getting some things done efficiently. You had a voice, though management didn't always understand because they didn't understand the technical aspects of your job completely.

    Love This Place

    Easy Tech Associate (Current Employee)
    Apple Valley, CA

ProsThey are great at working around your schedule for school. A lot of the day is spent answering the same questions (what is XL ink, is usb 3.0 compatible with what I have, do you sell iPads, could you order me a purple notebook that has a two inch spacing at the top and an insert for putting papers in...), but then there are some exciting moments at the Easy Tech desk.

ConsWay too understaffed. Sometimes I'll be taking care of three customers, a phone call, and I have at least two or three computers that need to be finished within a few hours because no other associate has worked on them while I was gone and the customer is really angry.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe stricter on the supervisors and the employees. Make sure they don't have their phones on them. No texting or talking on the phone unless you're showing a customer how it works using your own as an example. I wish there were still two lead tech positions that pay more and a few tech associates that can help out behind the counter. It's not okay to just have one tech working on computers and handling intakes. There needs to be one intaker, a sales floor associate, and one person working on computers when there are three or more magnets on the board. When there are less than three, then one tech should be behind the counter and the others should be out helping customers on the sales floor. And there should be an incentive program in place where if you work harder, you get paid more. I feel like I do at least two times more than what I did when I first started working, but I get paid the same. And finally I wish there were more hours for training. I don't have my own time to spend for researching new printer models - I'd like to spend at least an hour a week doing the training on the hub.
