ProsThe job offers great flexibility for vacation time or time off needed for any personal reasons. For the most part, great work environment. I would recommend it to anyone.

ConsThere is really no room for growth. Not too many people start and end their careers as insurance producers.

I have been working at State Farm full-time for less than a year

ProsPretty secure job if you are a diligent worker

ConsHigh turn over based on agent opinion of employee work ethic

Advice to Senior ManagementI am curious to know if the call centers can be expanded for SFPP and auto service. The call wait times are atrocious and really take away from a day's work.

Enriching

Claims Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at State Farm full-time for more than 3 years

ProsAmple opportunity, great for recent college graduates and competitive compensation ( including incentive bonuses for non sales employees) ; strong focus on customer, growing the business and developing employees.

ConsGetting used to metric based performance (but this makes it easier to measure your growth which is helpful during performance review time) ; management style varies (this is to be expected) ; agents can be difficult when claims adjuster has to make decision that may not benefit insured; agency turnover seems high ; lots of apathy among tenured employees who are sticking it out just to retire early; tough decisions can result in highly argumentative conversations with customers (opportunities to sharpen one's customer service skills) ; en masse migration to centralized claim environments (call centers) that can feel impersonal to some.

Advice to Senior ManagementAEGI is much appreciated, we will survive the growing pains, but acknowledge the growing employee disengagement!
