Former Employee – worked at State Farm
Pros – The internship is a great opportunity to travel (if you're not from Bloomington), meet a TON of other students like you, and really get your foot in the door.
Almost everyone knows about State Farm, so adding it to your resume will make you have pride in where you've worked. The internship is great experience in any field, because there are so many departments within the company.
Cons – You have to be ready for the corporate-culture. The internship always starts off really slow (as does any internship) and then once you get into the swing of things, you will be working a full-time job. Once you have enough work to accomplish, the time will go by very quickly.

Former Employee – worked at State Farm
Pros – A great internship program and good overall experience
Very laid back atmosphere
Casual dress code
Flexible work hours
Cons – INEFFICIENT and wasteful as a company (In how they use their resources)
Boring
Few short term opportunities, only employees who stay for 20+ years are really rewarded
Advice to Senior Management – Start acting like a publicly traded company. Stop the waste and inefficiency.

Former Employee – worked at State Farm
Pros – Great company to work for. Good business model and corporate support for the agent. Marketing techniques used within State Farm really help the agent in the long run.
Cons – Didn't get paid. Not any work to do in the office. Was forced to do an internship by my college so I was pretty bored and angry about the whole process. Didn't learn anything I already knew and was a waste of time. Cons as an agent would probably be all the downtime in the office all the employees have.
Advice to Senior Management – Utilize your interns in a more efficient manner. Hell, I would've washed his car if I didn't have to sit in the terrible office and stare at a computer for 8 hours everyday.

Current Employee – been working at State Farm
Pros – Lots of opportunity to grow and advance in the company. They had strong values that were seen throughout the corporate environment.
Cons – As an intern the even though you have a big hand in delivering sales for the agent and everyone in the office, you don't get bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management – Not much advice is needed. Everything that I have seen so far makes me a firm believer int he company.
