    I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The company was great to work for. I enjoy my job and speaking with customers. The company did right by the customers.

    Cons

    Longevity isn't a sure thing as the industry is rapidly training. In certain departments you may hit a ceiling and unable to move forward as you would like or have expected.

    There are great people working withing the agencies that should be considered for positions outside the offices to expand opportunities.

    I worked at State Farm

    Pros

    National brand recognition.
    Sales and service leader.
    Exceptional Claims service.
    Salary and benefits package were very good.
    Training and development was high and promotional opportunities within the company make it a good place to pursue a career.

    Cons

    Difficult to move up in the company without moving around. Out of state opportunities are there but difficult to take advantage of if you have a family.

    Pros

    its a stable job or a perfect career you can fall back on. People will always need insurance, and you get to help them figure out what works best for them. If you enjoy learning, and helping people out (sometimes difficult) then i recommned getting your insurance licenses.

    starting out can be tough, learning the systems, learning to sell the products.

    Excellent benefits and work environment. Strong employee focused company. Financially stable. Investing in the latest technology. Good training program. A place for long term job security.

    Cons

    If you are not somewhat versed in working wit a computer it may be difficult to learn their computer system and the insurance processes]/procedures at the same time.
