I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Freedom and flexabliity are a good benifit. Helping people and making sure that they are prepaired for the unexpected is a rewarding feild.

    Cons

Most consumers have to be educated on products and insurance coverages. Some customers have to be informed more than once in more than one way. This job can be redundant and is only a good fit for those that can repeat the same task in a mannor that does not seem redundant.

I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Steady paycheck, good benefits, and flexible work environment outside of the call center jobs

    Cons

Lots of politics (like most big companies, I assume), little accountability when employees do not do their jobs or do not achieve their goals, low tolerance for different approaches to work and different communication styles

I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits, good people, good hours. Training was good and you get to talk to a lot of customers, some good some bad.

    Cons

Work load started off reasonable, now it's heavy with lots of overtime. Not enough notice when trying to setup any time off. You need to be willing to relocate if you want to move up. But you can move up quickly if you are willing to move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit micro managing and be upfront about processes and the ultimate plan.
