ProsThe job offers great flexibility for vacation time or time off needed for any personal reasons. For the most part, great work environment. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Company - ignore the nonsense

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
Jacksonville, FL

I have been working at State Farm full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGREAT benefits.
Performance raises
Company bonus
Christmas presents
CCC Sales call center part time positions (in other locations) can create full time income.

ConsSome of the workloads/schedules are egregious. It can cause work/life to be out of balance. In some areas the care for the individual is gone, they have so many people looking for work sometimes you can feel devalued.
Company restructuring can make things very volatile.

Advice to Senior ManagementPhones have to be answered by people. People have to have lives, rethink your schedules to accommodate more back to back days off and less 10 hour weekend days that include both Saturday and Sunday. Happy employees make for stable, hard working, lasting employees.

Great learning experience

Enterprise Architect (Current Employee)
Bloomington, IL

I have been working at State Farm as a contractor for more than a year

ProsState Farm is extremely large, and has at least two of everything, so the learning opportunities are many.
You are allowed to self direct your work to some extent, which is nice
Nice facilities with some amenities
Very structured career paths for IT employees
Very collaborative environment

ConsPeople are not really friendly, they just pretend to be
No one is happy
They have an adversarial relationship with the community they live in
The town of Bloomington is desolate

Sales Team member

Sales Representative (Current Employee)
Charlotte, NC

I have been working at State Farm full-time for less than a year

ProsSmall offices, some relaxed days, being able to genuinely help customers through their situations and completing sales goals for the month. You learn that you really have to work with your associates to get some things done.

ConsHours can be long. Experience is truly determined by the agent that you work for. If your future isn't wanting to own an agency then there is no point in being a team member in the office. Goals or alternatives to go from office to corporate seem slim to none.

Advice to Senior ManagementFollow through with trainings.

Is a good employer but downgrading rapidly

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at State Farm

ProsGood working hours.Friendly environment
Always a good choice if u want a lifetime employer with average work load. Linient about project timeframes.

ConsConstant instability as you can be moved out of any project or location any time
Also there are many situations when project timelines keep on getting extended. Its very difficult to plan things and management between different areas internally is very bad

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease get your basics clear before implementing huge projects
