I have been working at State Farm full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Commission scale is nice, a lot of incentives, company values employees and wants to keep them working for the company for years, will basically create a job for someone to keep them around.

    Cons

No paid time off, no benefits, no over time pay, work a few Saturdays a month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start offering benefits and discounts to employees....I mean this is an INSURANCE company.

I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Efficiency and unloading cost heavy locations. Lots of jobs in DFW.

    Cons

Matrix are taking away from real claim handling. You cannot measure successful claim handling by amount of time on a phone call or how many claims closed each day.
    -
Shift bidding and vac bidding takes away mgmt decisions and makes it feel like a call center. Job has changed a lot and losing a sense of pride working at the farm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look into the claims to measure success.
Take care of your experienced reps and expect more from new employees.

I have been working at State Farm

    Pros

co-workers are nice, helping consumers in there time of need.

    Cons

morale is very low, currently no advancement. constantly changing protocol, Oklahoma location is drowning do to employees leaving over huge protocol change. Claim adjuster should get paid more just on the basis of what they have to put up with from consumers and employers. State Farm has a good neighbors policy but where is for your employees.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Top state farm people like the CEO needs to come to there Tulsa Oklahoma location and work as a Claim adjuster for a few days. then just maybe smarter/better decisions will be made for where your employees are concerned. The Tulsa Oklahoma location is drowning do to very poor decisions made by corporate in Illinois.
