    Pros

Decent money and it was a good place to work until what you read below

    Cons

Went from family being #1 to making money is more important. Leaders stressed and people treated like factory workers.

    Pros

They are very flexible when it comes to taking off, going to your children's school functions, etc. You take care of their customers and do a good job, and they'll take care of you. The pay is good for this area.

    Cons

No structure. Employees constantly calling in, and leaving their messes for the more dependable, organized employees to deal with. Bosses choose to ignore the many issues in the office, instead of correcting the problems. Very frustrating to watch day after day. Comission pay is directly affected by this.

    Advice to Management

Either clean up the office, or close it. All the many issues in the office are causing productivity to take a serious decline.

    Pros

Nice people, easy going atmosphere, project based work. Work is pretty interesting, and if you don't like your project you can always work on other stuff

    Cons

Nothing cutting edge, you are going to be implementing 2-5 year old technology. State Farm seems to always be playing catch up

    Advice to Management

it would be cool if there was more motivation to actually do work. it seems that a lot of the time is spent waiting for things to get processed, and trying to download software from oleks

    Pros

The culture here is unbelievable (never knew I cared about such a thing). The enviroment feels like college. The buildings are high class and futuristic. Personal development is highly encouraged. No micro managing or very little. Employees are empowered and given responsibilities to do clubs/committees. Tuition reimbursement is decent. Decent amount of days off and easy to take.

    Cons

Salary is the #1con, it's extremely low and almost insulting.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more.

    Pros

If you get in at a young age and have a good manager, they will develop you.

    Cons

Customer service is no longer a priority although management will tell you otherwise. The structure is all about volume and not about service. They also compare employee performances in group settings multiple times during the week.
If you are an older woman, there is absolutely no chance for advancement.
They have changed their pay structure so now the entry level jobs do not pay very well.

    Advice to Management

Don't just say you care about customer service, actually support your employees that provide it.

    Pros

Small office allows you to get to know all employess very well.

    Cons

Salary is extremely low (30 yrs experience and still making less than $18/ hr). Benefits are poor and some are nonexistent. Petty rivalry among sales associates. Hold times to regional offices can be over 30 minutes. Company structure changing and rather than having someone you grow familiar with as your underwriter, you now have millions of 'front line' folks at every turn who have no authority or experience to assist you. Computer systems (necho) date back to DOS days. Clientele focus is on the 'upper crust' and rates are determined, in part, with credit scores. Very unfair practices.

    Advice to Management

Go back to assigned underwriters, hire back the experienced folks and clear out all the levels one has to go through just to get a job done. Do more inspections of the agents; dishonesty runs rampant!

    Pros

-Coworkers are great-it's self paced-room for advancement within the company itself by becoming an agent and starting your own business or by applying at corporate hq if you're willing to move.- help if you need it

    Cons

    - no real benefits-no discounts-spend all day on the phone-over saturated market-

    Advice to Management

The guys from hq might try humbling themselves a bit.

    Pros

Benefits, flexibility, compensation for performance, huge focus on growth and development, decent training environment, location is decent

    Cons

Salary comparison may not be the best due to more traditional values. Move to hubs in large metro area has changed the quality of employee setting unrealistic expectations in a work force that focuses heavily on bottom line cents

    Advice to Management

Either eat or be eaten. Hire people that care more about their career path and provide a more realistic overview of the roles and the responsibilities
