I have been working at State Street

    Pros

    Great benefits, salary good.Good opportunity.

    Cons

Outsourcing departments has hurt what was once a smooth running "machine". People cared more when areas were kept in house, better morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees would be more engaged if treated as people. Outsourcing hurt morale in several areas.

    Pros

Flexibility, Team environment, ability to learn, company support, opportunity - there are many training initiatives and that is very encouraging in how the company urges continuous improvement.

    Cons

I can not really think of any actual cons to working here. there is a nice balance to everything although sometimes the urge to step away and have more free time during the day.

    I worked at State Street

    Pros

State street has its perks and an online platform where you can shop for discounts. Multiple clubs are offered for full time and interns. I really liked how they integrated the interns into the working culture and environment. We were invited to do outreach programs to give back to our local Boston community which was a great way to get to know my colleagues and do good for the local community.

    Cons

The working culture is very hierarchial but that is to be expected from a financial service company. No particular cons except for the fact that the company is extremely large (can be good or bad).

    Pros

The company is continuously reinventing itself, creating new opportunities.

    Cons

Part of this reinvention also means that reorganizations have become a way of life in many divisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Culture v. earnings - both matter to companies who want to thrive for the long term.
