    Pros

I love what I do and this can be a very rewarding job especially when you know you have made an impact with a family.you can build relationships that will last a lifetime. The training has improved but needs changes.

    Cons

Employees do not receive enough training, the training needs refocusing,a class on contracts only,a class on products only,a class on at need only etc.You should not have to PAY for your training,by this I mean with all your volume and one half (AT LEAST) of all your commissions. This not only happens during your so called training but for months after you have received your license. Then certain managers think you need retraining and the process of taking from you starts all over. There are occasions when schedules are lost or changed in order for managers and assistant managers to take deals away from other staff members This is Wrong.I feel as though they do not want to retain good employees ,they want a constant turn over, that way when they hire you ,you naturally want to help your friends and family, but when your personal leads have been raked over they pressure you so much that people quit. Then the process starts all over. This needs to change and it needs to change soon.

    Advice to Management

I love my job and am here to stay, but please take to heart what I have stated, pay close attention to what the managers and assistant managers are doing to their staffs, you will then retain some very good employees. Please consider my suggestions about training spend less time motivating and more time on the important basics ,well trained and educated employees will be happier and the production will then naturally come into focus,

    Pros

They are hiring now if you are looking

    Cons

No communication. Pay is low for admins. Company is too hung up on hierarchy.

    Advice to Management

Field office administrators are not trained properly and not informed when procedures change. Management never ask the actually people that deal with the families directly what they think about anything. They just send memos and telling you this is what we are doing now. They should talk to people on the frontline. There is a break down on communication chain. Maybe if they paid more they would get more experienced admin people who care instead of paper pushers that do not want to take personal responsibility.

    Pros

A great place to work, since you help families on a hard time, and its grateful. Nice bonus and commissions to sales person, on the sales managers need to work with the override since there are locations that their target to achieve an override it's almost the location quota.

    Cons

The administration personal from top to bottom lost the focus that Stonemor is a sales business. Making every single sale almost impossible to close. Making every single customer having a hard time, everything is more work for them and the worst of all they don't even care about the job. They might try to say they care, but words are backed up by actions and if the top leaders visit any location and interview any sales person or manager, you will see it's true.

    Advice to Management

Need to work with the administration team from the top to the bottom..., to let them know that their pay check come from the result of the sales. That if they don't care about sales, they are on the wrong job. Need more inventory and tools for sales person to increase sales, and stop adding more tasks to sales team, since you lose sales time. Remember that the time is gold $

    Pros

You get to help family's and pray for them to receive comfort from the Holy Spirit! We get to actually show the families that we care and we love them.

    Cons

We work 45 to 60 hours per week and only get paid 7.25 per hour. There is no overtime if you don't pitch the customer who just lost their loved one a marker or the space close to the family member you are looked down upon. There is very little compassion for the grieving.

    Advice to Management

The families in our communities are tired of hearing people call from Forest Lawn gardens or Stonemor or anyone trying to sell them burial arrangements.

    Pros

unlimited earning potential if you have the drive and self discipline to take rejection well and keep on the right path

    Cons

long hours, prospecting is done on your own without many corporate leads, emotional purchase so must have a fantastic presentation

    Advice to Management

insist on salespeople having one day off a week, including managers because we are told it is our store so the tendency is to work every day to make the sales quotas...burnout and loss of great people will result.

    Pros

Beautiful scenery and surroundings, nice and hard working maintenance crew, working somewhat independently without people micro managing you, most weekends off.

    Cons

Horrible overall training, overwhelming and antiquated record keeping, awful and bullying sales crew that care primarily about their commissions and not grieving families, very low pay for work expected, lack of basic knowledge from employees that have been with the company a long time. Structured on greed, this is a billion dollar company that offers poor benefits and terrible pay. The sales manager at my location has bullied me since day one and has no respect for anyone. I can not wait to leave this job. It's the worst job I've ever had.

    Advice to Management

Respect those who work hard. Stop promoting awful people. Give salespersons the ability to handle some of their own basic tasks instead of throwing things on administration constantly.

    Pros

As a member of Human Resources, I have a unique view of the employee dynamics at StoneMor. Although the subject of death can make some people feel uncomfortable, our employees and managers are wonderful in making customers and families feel at ease during the most difficult time in their lives. Our employees are passionate about their careers and serving families. StoneMor has a great benefit package, bonus programs, opportunity for growth in almost every department in the company, and for most positions, flexibility in schedules. StoneMor has family-like values that I can relate to personally, as well.

    Cons

Since StoneMor has over 350 locations across the United States and Puerto Rico, the locations can differ in their operational practices. This is also due to the different sizes, structures, and budgets of our locations so one size does not necessarily fit all.

    Advice to Management

Managers should always contact their direct supervisor or Human Resources with operational, procedural, or location concerns. Managers should also welcome any training offered in order to increase their professional value individually and for the company.

    Pros

The only reason there is anything is because Glassdoor requires at least 5 words.

    Cons

Upper management only sees the national picture, never the local views. When they provide "deals" to help you sale more it actually hurts your pay, because they offer the "specials" on the products that you make highest commission on. When I first started the were happy with our results, the minute the times get tough they will begin to start talking down to you in hopes it fires you up... Nothing will fire you up about working 6-7 days a week at minimum wage, with barely any commission, very very few holidays off, no PTO, and vacation time is non-existent. I know a manager that has been doing this for years, and she only has 1 week of vacation after almost a decade of the funeral industry service. Don't this to yourself, if you have any respect for your community as well as your own well being, you won't go through the process of fighting tooth and nail to barely make ends meet. I have 2 jobs and this takes up so much time, I can't offset any loss I have at my other place of employment.

    Advice to Management

The reason you don't make budget consistently or keep decent employees is because they are smart enough to figure out that they are wasting their time. I'm glad to be leaving this company for one that has already done more for me as a new hire, than this company has almost done within a year.

    Cons

1st thing lowered commissions 3 times since they took over, on cemetery, on funerals drop commissions 4% and more! If you makingthere buget your ok, You are expected to do most all cold calls for appt. They expect you to do most all promotion of business

    Advice to Management

Work with your people, treat them the the way you would like to be treated! Help employee to better themselves , not brow beat them!
