    Suburban Hospital Review

Ops- Manager (Former Employee) Bethesda, MD

ProsI learned a lot about my self and about being an manager.

ConsWorking there was very stressful because of the hospital employees. They are a mean group of people and don't believe in team work. A lot of them felt they were to good to even pick up a piece of paper off the floor.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey need to work on all departments to work together to keep the hospital running and clean. They need to work on their attitudes towards each other not only the patients.

Technician working at Suburban Hospital more than 10 years

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsHospital trying to improve patient experiences.
Building a new hospital and parking garage.
Has lots of activities for employees.

ConsOld building. Parking is a nightmare, you are shuttled in buses between parking lots to work. Since Johns Hopkins took over, the hospital lost its community focused care. Many jobs have been eliminated or moved to Baltimore. They are a "non-profit" hospital that wants to make money. Most of the staff walk the halls with unhappy faces and not friendly, not a warm caring place to work any more.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within Suburban instead of hiring Johns Hopkins staff for management jobs. Return to focusing on what is best for the health of the community instead of what Johns Hopkins wants in Baltimore. Put on happy faces when walking hallways and always acknowledge employees, patients and guests to make Suburban a caring place to be again.

Or RN (Current Employee) Bethesda, MD

ProsThe employees who have been there for a long time are a respectable amount of people. They are very nice and helpful.

ConsToo many changes in favor of the management and not necessarily of the employees of Suburban. Seems like the focus points are not for the "workers".

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to be more involved on the floor.
