I have been working at Subway

    Pros

No pros, Subway was an absolutely terrible place to work.

    Cons

Management was terrible. The manager likes to work us as much as she can without making us full time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not hire managers who are not willing to worked the required 55 hours. Most of the time we were short on work because the manager only worked about 20 hours a week

    I worked at Subway

    Pros

Great co workers. Great customers (not all) . Free meals

    Cons

Like seriously 1 person for 8 hours thats crazy. I nevermind the work but i didnt like the fact people had to wait in line and people would order 6 sandwiches at a time even with 2 people it wasnt enough. And if you didnt have something in front you had to run back and get it. Only had an hour to clean up everything and close the day. Manger didnt even know how to do inventory.. OH AND WHEN BEING TRAINED HE WOULD PAY WITH MEALS NOT CASH!!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

STOP PAYING CASH AND HIRE MORE WORKERS!

    I worked at Subway

    Pros

    I got a paycheck. Yippee.

    Cons

Everything else. Treated like dirt and ordered to treat my subordinates the same way. I left for a higher-pad job cleaning toilets (literally).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some of that padding out of your wallets and give it to your employees. Learn the difference between humans and infectious pond mold, and treat employees accroding to which category they're actually a part of. Then again, pond mold would deserve better treatment than Subway gives humans.

Subway is just an unicorn of management. The step ladder starts at franchisee and ends with DA management, since all teritories are privately own by DAs.

I have been working at Subway full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to gain costumer service skills

    Cons

Costumers are rude, spoiled and picky.

For employees, it's deep end ones reach management.

    Most franchisee can't afford overtime

Franchisee will post a pay cap.

For franchisee you will make only 5% to a 10% from all sales.

Subway will build subways within a mile of each other. Making an older franchisee lose sales to a new franchisee.

Subway makes extremely hard to franchise owners to buy or build a new franchisee.

I worked at Subway full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you want a job that you can always compare your future jobs to, this is the one. Whenever things get rough at a current job, or just in life in general. I always remind myself it could not be as bad as subway.

    Cons

At the location I worked at I was not given any sort of compensation, time-off, or anything. You were also constantly watched on camera, and our boss would call you if she saw that you put a little too much of something on someone's sandwich.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees better. Subway makes a ton of money and yet they don't treat their employees that well. At least not that I saw at the 3 locations I worked at.

    I worked at Subway

    Pros

    Was flexible with my schedule.

    Cons

Very poor training, poor communication, doesn't speak clear English, very unprofessional. Tells employee's that they are disappointed in them, that they are a mamma's boy, and that they need to go faster. Micromanager's. Doesn't give employee's breaks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go get some training on how to be professional, and how to follow the oregon state laws. It is illegal not to give employee's breaks. Go take a class on how to speak English.

I worked at Subway part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

free 6 inch sandwich after every shift, free chips and cookie.

    Cons

no hours, i uniform shirt, working in an unsafe work environment due to being surrounding by convicted thugs, murderers, thieves and rapists. substandard health environment. management are morons. paid MINIMUM WAGE, and never getting ahead. should I go on...?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit hiring employees you are screwing and putting them in management positions or you will lose a lot more than other good decent employees. owners...quit hiring thugs on parole. These convicted felons are selling drugs outta your store!!! Are you blind?!? Pay at least $8 an hour and you will see your employee quality go up. or get employees who are brazen enough to rob you blind in front of the camera!
