It's not a bad first job

Sandwich Creator (Former Employee)
Sugar Land, TX

I worked at Subway part-time for more than a year

ProsWorking at subway gave me good hours, pretty good pay, enough responsibility to feel like a contributing member of a team.

ConsThe task of creating the same sandwich for the same people gets quite monotonous, especially if the customers aren't the friendliest.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good to start requiring customer relationship for beginners.

Assistant Manager (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Subway full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFood is fresh, use creativity. There is no backdoor work other than getting the food ready, food is made in front of the customer so they know what they are getting. Good for beginner to provide customer service.

ConsAlthough the bread smells and tastes good, but it is often hard to get rid of the odor from the clothes. Customer expects the employer to know what type of service they desire.

Advice to Senior ManagementHigher wages.

Alright for a Student Job

Sandwich Artist (Former Employee)
Schenectady, NY

I worked at Subway full-time for less than a year

ProsJob is pretty straightforward, flexible hours. Most co-workers were nice as well.

ConsPretty poor management, especially with my training. The owner of the local franchise had cameras/mics everywhere and watched us frequently, which felt uncomfortable.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure your training is actually consistent! I was told to change certain details of how I did things frequently, it was never consistent.

Acceptable but could be much better

Subway Sandwich Artist (Current Employee)
Lynbrook, NY

I have been working at Subway full-time for less than a year

ProsFlexible schedule and human and understand that youre a person who has their own problems too and have to deal with them sometimes

ConsPay is just minimum wage so nothing special and theres very little to no mobility from being a sandwich artist and theres a lot of cheating and gross health factors

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter compensation for the amount of work done
