I have been working at Sunoco Logistics full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good medical benefits. Decent year end bonus. Free parking. Good location / traffic, as it is not located in downtown Houston.

    Cons

Low salary, poor management, management doesn't seem to be in touch with employees. Very chaotic. Internal departments do not work well together. Lack of office space in building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Management needs to learn management skills of their own. Management tends to put cost before quality, when it comes to assets and projects.

I have been working at Sunoco Logistics for less than a year

    Pros

The office is in a good location away from the city and traffic. Benefits are decent. Definitely a great place to start off your career, learn and grow as a professional.

    Cons

But beginning of a profession is where one caps. Systems, policies and procedures are archaic at best. No real training, just thrown into the fire and hope you return. Every department is waiting on another department and work bottlenecks at crucial times. Overworked, underpaid is a norm but no one seems to understand why and the cycle starts over the following month. Management is extremely inefficient and do not seem to come up to solutions but just patch things up just enough so the department won't collapse. Seems as the company doesn't invest in it's infrastructure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get it together and look at what's happening. This company could be great but it seems that mediocre is satisfactory.

I have been working at Sunoco Logistics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Friendly place, small enough to make a good employee to stand up fairly easy.

    Cons

Base salaries lower than competitors. No training. Education reimbursement a joke, only for cheap community college courses. Middle management does not exist at the Sugar land office, upper management in PA decides every single thing. Office is run by an admon, who makes all the important decisions for the entire place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. Company is doing great, employees can always be replaced.

I have been working at Sunoco Logistics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Steady work. The place will be open tomorrow.
Good place to start out especially for veterans.

    Cons

    Rather sloppy training.
    High stress.
    Low morale.
Unhealthy work environment - some very attitudes among co-workers.
Sale to ETP has reduced benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More planning needed with some day-to-day operations. Sloppy planning more often than not.

    Cons

Bad management of drivers...New equiment that breaks down 3 times monthly...New trucks in yard that they will not let you use when more than 4 trucks are down...You have to keep taps on your check amount. Weak union did'nt research pay for crude oil pay for drivers...We're lowest paid. Company wants you to grease, adjust brakes on trailer and your truck. Yes a PM !! That pays $9.04 period for a 1 1/2 job !! Every week ! Mech. on duty wont do it . No career opportunities to move up.
