I worked at Sutherland Global Services full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Steady work with some choice in shifts
Offered a new assignment when old ones ended.
Good training programs and post training support.

    Cons

Did not like being moved from area to area every few weeks. Work areas were too noisy due to several boomboxes brought in by management.
Client kept changing its policies, sometimes doing a complete about-face on some issues.
Too many metrics and too much time spent discussing metrics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Bring back free coffee
Get rid of the boom boxes.

    Pros

Fun, and friendly environment. If you are a person who likes challenges, and is flexible, then apply. But be aware, you will be expect to adapt to all and any changes that the client demands. Great job for those just exiting from highs-school. Alot of valuable lessons of the corporate world can be observed.

    Cons

It's difficult to be promoted to a higher position.

Work-at-home setup is legit, part-time hours are ok, personnel is HORRIBLE.

I have been working at Sutherland Global Services part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Training was intense but VERY beneficial/learned a lot. Work-at-home setup is the most secure/legit I've seen. Got the hang of things very quickly.

    Cons

Folks in HR lose your paperwork or don't receive it, constantly! Had to fax something at least twice before the received it. Pay rate wasn't adjusted after training and managers were not on top of getting it corrected. Speaking of managers, communication with managers is HORRIBLE. Can't get anyone on the phone. They don't return emails, and you feel like the only time you hear from them is when it comes to your metrics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

COMMUNICATE with your employees! Work at home is already isolated enough. Don't make yourself unavailable when employees have questions or concerns. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth even though I love the work at home setup and love what I do for you guys.

    Pros

Good place to go when you really need a job and their IT positions are a great place to build some experience.

    Cons

The corporate level has very little care for their employees, they will sometimes work you to insanity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You may want to check over some of your departments and see how things fall into the Sutherland standards. There is a lot of inconsistencies.

    Pros

You can work at home, no driving or getting dressed for this job, They have good benefits, the people are enjoyable to work with.

    Cons

You have to be both technical and sales savy. Pay is not that great. You have to work bid shifts, hard to get on 1st shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would not put sales and technicians in the same job.
