One of the best places I've worked Decades of nursing experience, sutter has a real heart and soul

Registered Nurse (Current Employee) Modesto, CA

ProsStaff and education friendly. Supervisors work to empower employees

ConsCan be difficult to advance, employees often stay for decades, don't expect to get seniority fast

Advice to Senior ManagementSutter values have made things great for nurses and patients
    Please don't change

    The nature of the Beast!!!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIntensive care nursing is a passion and a calling. I cant discuss benifits or perks because they are falling off the map so quickley around here I feel like they have been abducted by aliens

ConsCorporate greed at its best. Fat cats salary rising...middle managment smiling and and taking thier bonuses and vacation's while keepimg the budget down, while the nurses pay decreased by 15%...the benefits were cut and the work load increased due to 15 people not being replaced after they left (over 2 years).... Cons?...Oh thats an understatement.

    Great place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe pay with Sutter is decent for the area. They have good opportunities such as paying for up to 24 hours of continuing education credits per year. Most of the staff members are a pleasure to work with. Paid time off is hard to beat.

ConsShort staffing at times makes it hard to get time off but that may be more of just a departmental issue.

It really is a good place to work, except for one thing...

Clinical Scheduling Specialist (Current Employee) Sacramento, CA

ProsGreat benefits. There is some room for advancement. Seems to be better now with the new COO

ConsIf you work an administrative job, you are REQUIRED to take off holidays, BUT you have to use your own PTO to fulfill your 80 hours. It doesn't matter if you don't want to use your PTO or if you want to work, say Labor Day. It's not an option.

    Good Place to Work

    Analyst (Former Employee) Sacramento, CA

ProsGreat benefits. Nice people to work with. Good team environment.

ConsWhen looking for other positions internally (promotions, position change), existing employees are not given preferential treatment. Must compete with everyone that applies externally.

    Financial Clearance Representative

Financial Clearance (Former Employee) Roseville, CA

ProsHours range from 7 to 3:30 to 10 to 6:30 M-F. Staff work in teams that are encouraged to solve problems together. Upper Management recognizes milestones and have held breakfasts, BBQ's, ice cream socials. Great Benefits.

ConsSome team management lead from their chair. Often staff is left to ask a fellow co-worker to solve the problem. Unless you are a favorite, it is not likely you will be chosen for a special project.

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer special projects to all staff, this will allow all staff the chance to learn and participate in something new. Having favorites only creates problems.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
