    Pros

Great learning company, lots of new equipment

    Cons

Under paid, overworked, limited family time due to low pay. Majority of trailers are in need of repair, planners give LDS that are impossible to deliver or pick up on time

    Advice to Management

Increase pay, more hometime, better LD planning

    Pros

Driver/Mgr. does his best to keep me moving. Direct deposit is great.

    Cons

Insurance is 20% of pay, never any detention or layover pay. Majority of miles are short runs, long hours little pay in return. Can take tractor home but trailers gone on return to terminal, constantly deadheading around, then sitting and waiting for a trailer wasting time and money. Hometime is 3 days every 4-6 weeks. Period.

    Advice to Management

Give the drivers willing to stay out on the road 4-8 weeks at a time better loads! Wouldn't have such huge turnover. Soon as schooling is paid back I'm gone!

    Pros

See the country, learn what NOT to do by seeing their failures!

    Cons

I have been w/ Swift over a year, Never home on-time, push you to lease or be a mentor, every paycheck I have to call b/c something is missing, you are just a truck# NOT a person, avg miles for solo company driver is 2000 per week, installing drivecams to watch you drive and in your cab while truck is on, expensive health insurance, terminals need renovating, the drivers showers are in the restrooms just like stalls (no privacy).

    Advice to Management

Respect your workers and they will perform well.

    Pros

Awesome company if you can get on a dedicated account,Pays much better also.Had some great driver managers over the years that care about their drivers.

    Cons

Prepare to work OTR when you first start out..Also 95 % of accidents you're involved in will be your fault ! Had a person blow a stop sign and T bone me in 2011 ( I had right away no stop sign for me) . Hit a low utility line at 4:30 am that was about 3'' lower than the trailer. 2 examples of accidents that were non preventable but yet Swift says they were..Only time ever you won't be charged is if you have a animal strike, that's if you don't leave the road.

    Advice to Management

Think about the veteran drivers that have made tons sacrifices for you and the company over a 20 yr career ,before terminating them for stuff they had zero control over.

    Pros

Large enough to get decent weekly miles . Road tractors are generally later models. Although since turnover is high( most people get 6 months and move on to something better) most of the trucks smell of smoke and other unpleasant smells that the shop won't bother trying to remove. If you're a non smoker good luck getting a truck that doesn't smell of smoke

    Cons

You will only be paid for about 80 - 85 percent of the miles you drove. Also the starting pay had been .25 a mile and you get a few raises over a year to be at .32 cpm. After that raises are yearly and to out @ . 38 cpm after 5 years. The trailers take a lot of abuse and you will defiantly be getting repairs made to them about every 3 months. Mainly the pins in the trailer tandoms . Also you will only be getting home about once a month. 3 weeks out with a weekend home.

    Advice to Management

Have non smoking trucks . Start paying drivers for the miles they drive. Better home time. And value the driver.

They always have freight you can lease a new truck with little effort and make OK money as long as you run hard you will make money

    Cons

You pay pump price for fuel and the rebate for fuel is a joke you have to train to make any decent money

    Advice to Management
