I have been working at Symantec part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

opportunity to participate in huge transformations: insourcing IT, divesting half the company. if you like lots of change, this is the place to be. Good benefits.

    Cons

so many big initiatives you have to wonder if symantec can do them all. salaries do not seem competitive. 401k matching vests over 4 years. Company is slipping back into silo'd behaviour.

    Pros

I have really enjoyed the people I've worked with over the years. In general they have very good benefits. Overall the pay has been competitive.

I have been working at Symantec full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Untapped pool of talented, smart, want-to-be-engaged people; nice campus, great benefits; pretty good internal training

    Cons

Really big shifts way too often. Can't get going on anything to have an impact before there is another big change in strategy, direction, focus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be transparent and honest. Treat employees, partners and customers like you'd want to be treated - with respect. Look past your own career kudos and marks and look long term impact and value.
