I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to start your career in finance. Good training and lots of exposure to clients and investment professionals

    Cons

The environment can be frustrating for high-achievers or anyone that wants to be compensated for outstanding results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I woulds suggest trying to identify some high performing low/mid level people that you would like to retain and give them raises twice a year instead of once. Low entry salary just takes too long to grow, even with healthy annual raises.

I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible shift hours, paid licensing, monthly meetings with manager, quarterly updates, great benefits in 401k and ESPP, OVERTIME.

    Cons

Call center environment, routing determines everything - based on predictions of peak business. Not a perfect bonus system, pay is below industry average. Limited growth potential currently in this location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cost of living, income tax, and inflation have had significant increases while these call center wages have maintained marginal growth.

I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are friendly and the environment is a lot more laid back than many other financial services firms. Networking in quite easy as most people are willing to meet with you and talk about career options and share their personal advancement story.

    Cons

Moving up in the company can take forever and T. Rowe doesn't pay very well for a financial services firm. With that said you do get a good chunk of change in your profit sharing plan.

I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid reputation, well respected firm.. New ideas are welcome. Some areas really emphasize career development, others only mention it passingly so they can check the box.

    Cons

The company is more like 5 or 6 smaller companies that don't talk to each other, compete for the same resources, etc. Not much accountability for when mistakes are made, b/c no one steps up to own it. Not many success stories, loyalty is not a word here. There is no job security and won't hesitate to let you go within the blink of an eye.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A lot of new talent has come in lately.. yet a lot of the same issues still exist. Where else perhaps could the problem be?

I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits and strong company reputation

    Cons

Work life balance and long hours. Pay should be more for hours worked and expectations of the role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at work load of this role. More and more work being pushed down from department managers and up from supervisors. This causes longers hours at work, outside of work and even weekends are expected and holidays. Leaves little time for family and outside of work priorities.

I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Supports your professional development. Good work life balance. If you do reasonably well and play nice, you probably have one of the safest jobs in the industry.

    Cons

You might not get much of a sense of what sort of impact you are having. There is a lot of intra-company politics. Appearances matter a lot here. There a lot of people here in middle management, so upward progression is tough.

Trickle-down economics for the majority of associates at this outstanding money management firm

I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

A decent package of benefits, an outstanding investment management firm, a bullet-proof reputation, tidy and attractive balance sheet, pro-client and pro-stockholder.

    Cons

Most associates are on lease as short-term assets/long-term liabilities, does not encourage ownership except for a few select insiders, ultra-secretive regarding compensation, 'culture' can be passive-aggressive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat more associates as owners and reward those who do good as you reward yourselves, and they will give the firm and their clients better ROI. Be more transparent, and respect the relative intelligence of your workforce. Live up to your well-earned reputation Internally, and transcend to become truly the most prized and appreciated investment management firm in the world.

I worked at T. Rowe Price

    Pros

Benefits, the campus and its facilities.

    Cons

Very compartmentalized, small amount of brown and black people, must play they game just to be given greater responsibilities. Group think, ultra conservative!!! $BB company ran like a mom and pop shop

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversity and Inclusion are one of the companies key principles, please remember that! Place value in different ideas and opposing opinions.
