    Pros

Great environment for continuous learning and interacting with friendly people. Great rewarding incentives for operators that take the initiative to go the extra mile in performance. The company really cares about employees health. They have provided great programs and events to help operators stay or become healthy.

    Cons

Does not have a well structured pay rate. Operators with minimum skills get paid more than other operators with highly talented attributes because of their seniority. There should be a structured criteria for pay rate based on level of reliability, skill sets and overall knowledge.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

The hierarchy is very flat which encourages communication, cooperation, and rapid development of ideas. My coworkers are smart and passionate. We're all excited to work on a product that actually makes a difference.

Taser is run by it's founder CEO whose goal is to build and grow the business: this means that the company is willing to take risks to build entirely new businesses. Taser's mission statement is: Protect life. Protect Truth. To date, Taser has been the trailblazer of two life-saving technologies: stun guns and body-worn cameras for police officers.

    Cons

the Seattle office is mostly an open office plan

    Pros

This team is ready to welcome inbound employees with open arms and lots of support.
The introduction and on-boarding has been great and I am thrilled with the reception they have given me!
Coming from a very large organization, I was a little bit used to feeling invisible sometimes, but this is not that kind of shop. I feel confident I will be able to contribute and work closely with other teams to help deliver - and leverage all the internal knowledge I can to make me successful.
Looking forward to a bright future here!

    Cons

none that I can see yet

    Pros

Simply stated, this is the best company I've ever worked for, and here are some reasons why:

-Massive growth potential both from a market perspective and personal career perspective
-Transformative technology company going from a hardware company to a hardware + software company
-Company that actually believes in what it's doing, and it's a good thing to do - Protect Life. Protect Truth.
    -Really fun people and culture

    Cons

Too much hyper-growth and opportunity! But seriously, while not a a perfect company, I can't think of any structural cons.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the market opportunity and your people. Continue to keep the bar high for hiring.

    Pros

    MANUFACTURING SIDE:
If your looking for a steady job with guaranteed 40 hrs/week and only looking to be an assembler then this place is great.

If your looking for a place to follow a path, move up, and be respected don't come here.

    Cons

The treatment of the two sides (MFG & Front Office) is vastly one sided. The front office personnel seem to be the only employee's who are worth recognition. Quarterly company meetings are discouraging to go, because they praise the front office so much it almost feels like we as MFG personnel shouldn't even be there.

There have been a few occasions where it seems like MFG was finally starting to be appreciated when the CEO announced that they were going to start paying more attention to the unknown people who don't get to do the big activities and are doing the day to day things that keep this place running, but again this was referring to the front office and no mention of the MFG side.

This place tears you down. In the beginning your all fired up with idea's and projects and only met with resistance or the people who don't care, or view your suggestions as unimportant. There have been instances where idea's are submitted, shot down, and then implemented later with no credit going to the operators/individual who submitted the idea.

The cycle reverses and you get so fed up with it that you become the person who doesn't care when others come to you.

Another big issue is that there is no direction for development on the MFG side, no career path if you want to move up. The "pay based on individual performance" model is broken and only promotes more favoritism.

We all play a role at this company whether it is being an operator on the line sitting for 10hrs/day or being the CEO, and from a manufacturing point of view it is becoming difficult to keep coming into this place every day.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at your manufacturing side and step in the shoes of all the different positions MFG has.

Re-evaluate your payment model. The "pay based on individual performance" is broken and continuously promotes favoritism. nothing will ever be perfect, but I think we can do significantly better then what we currently have.

The MFG side is literally a dinosaur which if we’re going to tell our customers to not be dinosaurs we need to practice what we preach. This company is all about protecting life & truth by improving technology for law enforcement and staying up to date with technology on our side as well. Walking from the front office to the MFG side is like going backwards in time. The matrix chairs for example in the front office, very cool, but our meeting rooms need to be updated (constantly met with computers that don't work or never get updated wasting valuable time and creating more meetings because of that)

We could look into better chairs for our operators that have to sit all day (it is NOT comfortable to sit in our current chairs this long).

There are so many great idea's I have seen from TCI's and think that we focus to much on ROI and not enough on process improvement.

At the end of the day I WANT this place to be a success, what we do here is a good thing, but I think the best way to keep customers happy and turn this into the 1 billion dollar company it wants to be is by keeping the employee's happy.

Rick had some great stuff at the beginning of the year with the focus on happiness, but it is now almost May and there has been no meeting/event to reinforce this motive, this should be a continuous and ongoing venture.

    Thank you.

    Pros

Passionate people, great culture, approachable leadership. This is a place that great people have the opportunity to grow and make real contributions to the company.

    Cons

People here work hard, and sometimes work-life balance is skewed. TASER is growing very quickly, which is both exciting and a lot of work.

    Advice to Management

Leaders at TASER are approachable, and I encourage them to keep taking time to get in the trenches with their employees from time to time.

    Pros

When you first come in they tell you that they like to cross train everyone.

    Cons

    Not True,
They teach for failure. They never cross train you and if you are finished with your job, and ask to help and train in the other areas they tell you no and a week later cancel your contract.
IF your at the end by Laser Alignment, you will never be there more than 3 months.
The majority of the employees seem to be poor uneducated women.

    Advice to Management

Swap the people in the Laser alignment to another area every 2 weeks. And do the same with the other areas.

    Pros

Everyone is passionate about their job and providing great products to improve relationships between the police and the public. With the size of company we are, every employee has responsibility and makes a difference. Every day is exciting and new. Interacting with our customers (police officers), has given me a new perspective on their jobs. Also time-off is pretty lax which is awesome!

    Cons

Every company has some issues, but Taser has been working to rectify theirs. Short people in certain positions which causes extra work for others (they are working on hiring good employees to fill these spots). Lower compensation than other tech companies for certain positions, but also cheaper living in AZ than CA.
