I worked at TASER full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Being given opportunities to grow my career buy their former CFO/COO. Being trusted in, believed in feeling valued by that person. Unfortunately those opportunities are no longer given if you aren't a Grad student or and overpaid executive. Its sad but true. I also enjoyed working with the employees that helped build this co to what it was. Some are still there, but few. The products intent, is also an important reason to feel good about being a part of Taser.

    Cons

CFO So many bad business decisions. And no one has the nerve to tell/challenge him. Too busy reliving his youth and trying to be like every other Big deal tech company vs focusing on why he started Taser to begin with. When the stocks up, its good. But when its not, reality is still there. That same ol toxic environment. Just my honest opinion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company will succeed, because the product is a good one. Quality is an issue, but with the right people I'm sure it could improve. Invest in your employees that have committed to make Taser what it was and can be. Value your employees, ALL of them. Not just the VP's or College kids. Make them want to go to work in the am. Not feel sick to. Grow a pair, be honest about whats not working.....

I have been working at TASER as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Taser itself it an awesome place to work. Culture, and saving lives.

    Cons

over 6 months of 70+ hours with no OT or insurance. Constantly having to prove yourself over and over after they find out something that might contradict they will continue to ask. If its not mgmt idea it wont get approved,.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your Sr. Talented Certified employees. There is a reason for such high turn over in the IT dept wont get the talent required to fill positions. Be more professional treat your employees that way you want to be treated. And most of all if you have a problem with someone tell them in writing not verbal.

Product actually saves lives daily. roots of the company were very strong. Cool facility, friendly co-workers. Very open working environment

    Cons

    Very open working environment
Arrogance in the industry as they are the only manufacturer of a viable ECW
No meaningful career path planning / counseling

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at TASER full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Talented mid level personnel. If you attend Harvard, you're a shoe-in. Casual and sometimes party atmosphere (Con -is also a major distraction). Amazing technology.

    Cons

Management structure is convoluted. More VPs than I can count. Controversial technology. Loyalty and hard work are not well compensated. Not much room for advancement or work life balance. Rules don't seem to apply evenly. Many unhappy coworkers. Seems to be very high turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees the way you expect them to invest in you. Nip gossip in the bud by providing clear management and direction. Try accountability.

    Pros

Hans Marrero is a great person if you get to meet him

    Cons

All of the smart employees don't stay around very long. No loyalty between employees. No loyalty between employees and managers.. Mass lay-offs, weekly firings. Not to mention working with a product that by nature has many safety concerns.. that you will have to spin positive.. and it will leave you with many sleepless nights wondering..

I have been working at TASER

    Pros

Very unique, leading edge products makes for an intriguing environment to work in. The office building is very high-tech and glamorous.

    Cons

Despite leadership's intent to 'develop' within, the company has no career path program, and continues to onboard outside of the company.

    No opinion of CEO
