I worked at TD Ameritrade full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people are fantastic and the company provided everything I needed for success. There were plenty of opportunities for advancement and the company was open/transparent about what was going on.

    Cons

None really. It's a company that enables it's employees to take charge of their own personal growth. That may not be for everyone and requires some ambition to rise through the ranks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you see a leader in a position that does not belong there, provide them with additional training or place them where they can do more harm than good.

I have been working at TD Ameritrade

    Pros

    Great company to work for
    They appreciate their associates
They will train you and help you get your licenses
They have mutilated schedules to fit your lifestyle
    They have opportunities for growth

    Cons

24 hour call center, so you may have to work on a late shift or overnight shift to start

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the pay comparable to other companies.
    Pay for more fore sales

I worked at TD Ameritrade full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The best thing about this place is that it is not your standard '9-5'. There isn't a clock that you punch in and out of, the people you work with end up being more like family as there are always events outside of work like Habitat for Humanity or other community events. The compensation is reasonable and managers truly have an open door policy.

    Cons

Honestly, I never found anything bad about working at TD Ameritrade, there may have been one or two people that I didn't mix well with but there are so many other good people here that you don't even notice that rare person you might not like to work with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management was great. They were fun and easy going while maintaining a professional relationship. I would've stayed here longer had I not relocated to San Francisco to return to school. I would apply in a heart beat if there was an opening today!

I have been working at TD Ameritrade for less than a year

    Pros

People are laid back. My teammates are awesome. Management does a good job. A lot of events. Cafeteria food taste pretty good and is pretty cheap. You can get a lot of free stuff, if you are good at your job. Popcorn Wednesdays.

    Cons

Only having 30 minutes for lunch. It flies by way too fast. Bathrooms are always closed because they are getting cleaned. It always seems to be the one you go to. The desks are too small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not interested in bi-weekly coaching sessions.
