Pros – I really like the engineering work that I do here - it's some of the most challenging work that I've done. There are a lot of new processes and procedures that have all started at the same time and that has been hard for a lot of engineers to deal with. I've found that when I make a suggestion, my manager gives me whatever I need to make the changes - the only problem I've had has been trying to get coworkers to change. They seem to want to make us fail. THere is a small group of employees who really need to leave and a large group of silent professionals who are very talented. These are impressive medical devices and once we get over the changes, this will be an awesome company.
Cons – The complaining employees are really making life tough. Slowly they are leaving and going off to engineer knives - wow, that's where their talents will be more challenged!! Most of the negative comments here are from people who don't want to take responsibility to make a difference....they just want to hang managers out to dry. If you want to make a difference, remember there are 2 sides.
Advice to Senior Management – Help us out! Get rid of the complainers who don't want Medical to survive. Help them to find more jobs making knives and tiny little compressors - the world needs more of both and less of them here in Wilsonville.

Current Employee – been working at TE Connectivity
Pros – There are lots of opportunities for success. Good people. Very interesting products on the cutting edge of health care technology. Pay for performance culture, with lots of recognition programs. If you are willing to work hard this is a great place to work. The management team really gets what needs to be done to grow the business. Lots of room for growth and unlimited opportunities for people who like to work hard. There is strong culture of continuous improvement, and there has been lots of change for the batter over the last couple of years.
Cons – There are lots of systems, and sometimes data is hard to find or not avaliable.
There are some legacy employees that are resistant to change and give the management team a hard time.

Current Employee – been working at TE Connectivity
Pros – Senior leadership after the spin off from Tyco changed the atmosphere for the better. They have challenged employees to be better.
Cons – We are still re-inventing ourselves. In such a large complex company (100k employees world-wide) we don't do anything very fast.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire more young people. Our employee population is closer to retirement, we need more people closer to graduation if we expect to retain the wealth of knowledge we've amassed.

Former Employee – worked at TE Connectivity
Pros – have a good amount of responsibility
will look great on my resume
had meaningful projects and felt valued
great people to work with
very good pay
great place to work, close to many large cities (NYC, Baltimore, DC, Philly etc)
very friendly people
gym and cafeteria at location
interns were very friendly and liked to hang out and go out
made some great friends there
many locations, so can travel a little, even as an intern
Cons – You need to like working for a large company, even though it doesn't have the corporate feel like most places.
Must like working 8-5
Must be okay with having a cubicle
Having a great manager makes a big difference on the amount of responsibility and pride you feel in your work
Must be okay with living in a smaller city
Advice to Senior Management – The leaders there were great usually, at least the ones I interacted with. Several spoke to the interns at different times during the summer, which shows that they were interested in the new talent coming in. They offered real advice and were willing to talk to us, even though we were at the bottom of the totem pole to them.
