    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

    Sorry, I don't see any.

    Cons

    - They won't be your advocate.
    - Good luck getting salary/hourly raises
    - They only care about themselves
    - HIGH turnover rate on their people.
    - Terrible health insurance. At one point they didn't even offer it for MA residents.
Stay away from this company. There are many more services company you can work for. The market is improving for technology jobs. Go elsewhere!

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

They appear to be very professional and friendly.

    Cons

I was recruited for a job at State Farm Ins. in Bloomington, IL. I stated my position very blunt and without deception - I was looking for a very-long term position. Tek systems told me what I wanted to hear - and I bought it hook line and sinker. After I signed an apartment lease and bought furniture for it - Tek Systems tells me that State Farm was "re-structuring" their budget and it no longer included my position. Really? after only 8 weeks? I was told this was probably going to run 2 years! What a big lie! And I'm pretty sure that Tek Systems knew it was going to happen.

    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

Great opportunity for people close with higher up management, reimbursements for lunches, gas, etc. to meet clients

    Cons

Terrible work-life balance. If you enjoy working 12+ hours a day to make roughly $500 a week, then this is the place for you!

They say they aren't like all the other recruiting firms or "sweat shops" out there, and TEKsystems is right. They are the leader of trying to put a butt in a seat and not building a relationship with their clients!!

They only care about the commissions they get from putting someone in a job, and once they're there, nothing!!

Please work here only if this is a last resort. Avoid at all costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your hired talent and figure out a way to train them. Hiring a bulk of people at once just because you want more people making 80+ calls a day for you to get more numbers in for the company does not help with the personal and professional goals the company claims to strive for!

I worked at TEKsystems full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

No sick time, no paid holidays, no vacation. The worst part is that even though my contract was until August, the company lost their contract in April and didn't tell any of the dozens of contractors until the day of.

    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

    Weekly pay
Contracts allow you to network with clients, possibly obtaining Full time employment with client.

    Cons

    Low Pay
Lousy benefits (expensive healthcare plan with Very high deductibles), no holidays, paid sick days or vacation time.
They make it difficult to get a job directly with client, even if the client wants to hire you, they rather you work for them at a low rate with no benefits forever then for you to get something better for yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer fair wages with decent benefits

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Use this company as a stepping stone and don't make a career out of this place. Although if you don't have a college degree this is a good company to work for. Or if you work in a field office, this may be a decent place.

    Cons

This company will underpay you in hopes you buy into their culture. They want to create a work environment that people will love so they will accept a substantially less salary than in other companies. If you are someone who doesn't care about what you make and being expected to work over time for pay that still qualifies you for section 8 housing (not making this up google section 8 qualifications for Anne Arundel County) then this is the job for you.

Don't be fooled by "Fortunes best places to work" because it is not referring to corporate. As soon as I was hired and spoke with my coworkers regarding it being Fortune's best place to work they made sure to let me know that award was only referring to the field offices. This is a corporate job with all the corporate politics that comes along with it. The turnover at this company is unreal. If you really need experience and can't get hired anywhere else use this company as a stepping stone but keep in mind they don't really care about you.

"TEK cares about their employees on a personal level and not just professional" is fake. Don't believe their lies and just go into it knowing what to expect. TEK stresses building relationships as part of their core values, what you should know is that this means you have to be friends with the people you work with in order to make your boss happy. Meaning you need to have coworkers on your team that you regularly hang out with outside of work. Oh and expect to go out to a lot of lunches and constantly try to impress people. The amount of work, responsibility and stress you have to deal with are unbelievable when you take into account the pay rate. Maybe this would be acceptable if you were a higher level manager but for an entry level position it just doesn't add up.

If you know your employees are being harassed then do something about it.

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

When they say, "This is the highest we can go on contract hourly, it's almost always a load of tosh."

    Cons

The recruiters appear to have gone to the agro used car salesman sales school. They employ some very unscrupulous business practices like asking you for your SSN before your interview so they can figure out how old you are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your culture has a very bad smell to it. Try to remember that when you think you're fooling everyone, you're usually just fooling yourself.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

    -Quick Hiring Process
-Sometimes the recruiters can actually look out for you.

    Cons

-Company Values for their contract employees are beyond low.
    - Pay Negotiation process is jaded and subjective.
-Outlook towards contractors is not positive.
-Personnel from TekSystems are poorly managed & lack the necessary people skills

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This section is for if you want to work for TekSystems:
Seeing that this is a real review I'll let you know how this goes down. If you want to work for TekSystems as an employee you will completely look out for the company and your own personal interests way more than you are for the clients that you find jobs for. You will be required to shave your face, dress like your clients dress and even drive a car approved on their company list. Are you kidding me? Is this smart business or a conservative group? I'll go with the second one.

This is for if you want to work as a contractor with TekSystems:
We get it, TekSystems makes money by contracting margins. The thing TekSystems doesn't understand is that they don't properly pay their contractors nor give them the consideration they need. Contracts are cut and dry and remember that at the end of the day you are a number... a piece of meat that the account managers will "manage". By manage I mean bringing the same Starbucks coffee & pastries onto the client site every week so they can keep their Starbucks platinum membership. On top of that lacking the most basic Account Manager trait called "being personable".

    The bottom Line:
If you're self absorbed and enjoy sucking the dollars from hard working people who are looking for temporary work without truly making a difference in their lives then go work for TekSystems. You will be around people who say they look out for you but really you are their resource that they need to make money on. The question you need to ask yourself before looking into a career at TekSystems is this:

"Are we really helping people find jobs and change their circumstances or are we just providing long term band-aids for their career path that will eventually get them no where?"

For contractors this is a simple one. If you NEED a job like tomorrow then sure go ahead and go talk to a TekSystems recruiter. If not....STAY FAR AWAY FROM TEKSYSTEMS. You have to remember that this company is one of many companies under the Allegis Group, which takes away billions of dollars away from hard working individuals just because they made a couple phone calls for you. They make phone calls when you're being lazy at home and not able to find a job. Look for places that will help you with your resume, search all the major sites and do not go into contract work. It is just for the $$$ at the end of the day. But if you want to be happy, find a place that will actually provide you with reliable health, dental, 401K, vacation/sick pay, and generous compensation with the value that you bring to the workplace.

Take this advice from someone who worked for TekSystems and had a horrible experience. Look for another agency if you're lazy, and if you aren't lazy, go find an employer who actually cares that you are a human being. Companies like TekSystems thrive on the uneducated and undervalued, they pay only the amount they can to maintain their margins.

    You are a number
They care only about their margins.
    End of Story.

Has a solid name in the agency recruiting world. Has good clients. But needs improvements to stay competitive in the recruiting industry

    Cons

Very poor interview process and follow up. Lacks a competitive candidate engagement progress. Treat your candidates well, not just those that you plan to hire

    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

You'll learn how important it is to know what drives someone to reach their goals, especially your closest colleagues. That is something I've taken with me as I've moved on from TEK.

    Cons

I worked in an office where the politics and turnover were high, HR was nowhere to be found, and poor leadership. Anyone higher than a recruiter wanted nothing to do with you unless you were going to make them money, so don't expect too much "relationship building" until that has happened. Someone left the company every two weeks which looked bad internally and externally. Consultants/contractors had some new junior recruiter calling them every month to have the same conversation over and over again because the last recruiter quit. There were many, many non-HR-friendly conversations happening daily, but no one was around to censor anything. Leadership doesn't appreciate any type of strategic thinking or creativity. "Hard work" was only found in a high number of dials and face time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The "we've always done it this way" mentality isn't going to work forever. Evolve with the times, technology, and with people. College graduates today are not the same as college graduates 20 years ago.
