    Pros

    Cons

If you are new to TekSystems or the contracting world, prepare to get screwed over.

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

Decent salary but this will depend on the company you are placed in.

    Cons

Like all other staffing companies nothing special.
Most of the reqruiters are incompetent and unprofessional. Mine is rude. They are just there to get the signing bonuses so they will try to lure you in with contract to hire placement which actually is lie most of the time. After you are placed you are on your own. If you need something they are usually do not reply emails so call them. Also this people have pretty low work ethic just be aware of and do not expect much from them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a look at your reqruiters professionalism and knowledge. Train the office personnel as well.

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

I work in the back office as BOA. So I can't speak for the sales side. great work environment, but that is about it. Work here if you are single or just out of school...

-great work development. Leadership will help you figure out where you wanna grow personally and professionally.

    Cons

...because if you have a life outside of work, you will be viewed as an outsider and moving up will be a lot more difficult.

    - terrible pay. Makes no sense what they pay at all

    - mgmt is usually made up of people who have only ever worked at Tek, so they do not really understand that there are other ways of running a company.

    - clicky

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to see the light and start compensating appropriately. There's a reason attrition is well over 50%, because nobody feels like TEK cares about them beyond the 'development'. If you actually cared, you would fully staff the place, make it so people could feel like they aren't always behind on their work, and pay them a wage that isn't embarrassingly 15 years outdated.

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

The company does a second to none job of training their recruiters.

    Cons

TEKsystem's may talk about work life balance, but it doesn't exist. They also "value" you as an internal employee while you are there, but the moment you leave, you are cut off from communication and they will come after you with letters from their lawyers about breaching non compete contracts. There are so many lawsuits to be found online. After talking to many former TEK employees, everyone said the same thing. They received a warning letter. Turnover is high and by creating this "fear" and general non compete contracts, I would be very careful when you leave.

I worked at TEKsystems full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They will get you into companies using the latest in IT technologies for long term assignments.

    Cons

They never come through when a company promised 6 month temp-to-perm opportunities. Their communication became vague to the point they did not look out for the best interest of the consultant, they only protected their investment with the client.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your tenured consultants remain loyal because they believed that the account managers would provide a quality service to both parties. If a consultant is on an assignment and it goes beyond the 6 month to permanent timeframe, the account manager should communicate the options to the consultant. In addition, if non-interviewing assignments are available there should be a rotation to allow tenured consulates to have minimal down time. The fair practices of TEKsystems are gone and this causes them to lose their most valued asset, the consultant.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

-Good place to work while looking for another job

-Recruiter was nice (but sometimes pushy). Recruiter was able to negotiate a higher pay rate for me than other contractors that performed the same duties at the same client site.

-Better than not having a job

    -Resume builder

-Recruiters occasionally take contractors out to lunch

    Cons

-I have found that most of the recruiters and account managers know very little about IT. I remember another recruiter that I worked with saying that they wanted to "download with [me] this afternoon" -- download does not mean let's meet and talk. I suppose you don't have to know a lot about something to sell it?

-I was under the impression that the job would be more technical than it actually was -- I ended up working at an IT Service Center doing customer service work -- very little IT knowledge, skills and/or abilities were required to do this job.

-There was an error made on one of my paychecks, it was fixed, but I had to waste a lot of time to try and convince TEK about the discrepancy. Then it took TEK 2-3 weeks to fix it. I shouldn't have had to do this in the first place. If I hadn't said anything TEK would have significantly underpaid me on one paycheck

-TEK doesn't necessarily care about your well-being or your best interest -- remember that when dealing with these people.

    -No relocation assistance

    -Benefits are below par

-Although the pay was alright FTEs, that did the exact same job for this client, made 3 dollars an hour more than me

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish I had thought of a business model which exploits millennials searching for jobs -- but you guys beat me to it.

    Pros

It is true they can facilitate finding a position for you. They have online training opportunities.

    Cons

With me, they started out taking approximately 55% of the monies paid by contracting company. Over time, I got to where I was getting close to the 60% mark and they were getting the other 40%.

    I worked at TEKsystems full-time

    Pros

You can definitely come right out of college and get lucky with a few placements and make some great money. It's a good way to build your work ethic because working here is like working in the military and most companies will like that you've worked in this organization in your next job interview

    Cons

It is a cult. If you're not hanging out and getting blacked out drunk with your co workers on the weekends then you become an outsider no matter how hard you work and how well you do. They cross the line when it comes to work/life balance and they want you to build "emotionally invested" relationships with your co workers. They love to play mind games and someone is always pretending to reach out to you as a kindness but they're really just doing it to get noticed and check a box and show that they are "fitting in to the culture". 2 years at the most and then look elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people credit for their hard work even if they come in and keep their head down and are grinding it out. Not everyone wants to spend every waking second with their co workers who they see all day everyday during the work week.
