I worked at TELUS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're on a good team/department you'll find the following is true:
    - Great opportunities to learn and grow your career
    - Highly successful, innovative and organized teams
    - Excellent benefits, perks and incentives for those who work hard
    - Incredibly talented and gracious professionals to work with
    - Flexible work schedules/styles; working remotely is common and little micro-managing

    Cons

    - Transparency is still an issue between HR/executives and general employees
    - Some rules don't apply to all employees across the board

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open and honest with your team. They don't mind hearing the truth even if it isn't positive.

I worked at TELUS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Young company, many opportunities for advancement, personable management

    Cons

New management, increased responsibility without increased pay, had to help the company grow in the US from the first day (not necessarily a bad thing to me. I enjoyed it.)

    I worked at TELUS

    Pros

As long as you are in CORPORATE store you will make a lot a commission money. Total salary range for a part-timer (approx 20hours/week) goes from 20k to 38k depending on your sales skills and the store sales volume. Benefits are great, you get a free smartphone + insurance.

    Cons

Do not accept, under any circonstances, to work for a TELUS dealer (a non-corporate store), you will have to work twice as hard as in a corporate store but for half the salary and no benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to find a way to keep your good part-time employees once they finish their degrees. I had to leave TELUS who i consider the best employer in Canada because they wouldnt even consider me for a finance-side job.

I have been working at TELUS full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Top 2 corporate priorities are Customer's First Culture, and Employee Engagement. These priorities are evident on every level from our CEO to our Front-Line Team Members.
    - Heavily invested in growing from within and development of team members. You can work your way from the ground up within TELUS.
    - Fair Process is promoted and practiced the vast majority of the time.
    - Fair Compensation. I've worked in multiple areas with multiple pay ranges, and I've always felt I get what I earn.
    - High participation in community involvement events.

    Cons

    - Culture between BU and M&P staff still has gaps we need to fill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep working hard on aligning all areas of the business with our corporate strategy. Work still needs to be done to educate and align all areas on what Customer First should look like in a ideal world, and what we mean when we speak of Engagement. These messages vary in perception across the company, as each department has a unique culture. We're already doing an amazing job at propelling these ideas to the forefront of peoples minds, but I think with more alignment and clear communication, we can exceed our expectations regarding where those focuses can bring us.

    Pros

the people are great to work with. Not much politics between employees. The pay is fair and the benefits are good. Work to life balance is also very good, time worked is flexible.

    Cons

training is lacking is some area's. this is an issue because the environment is so dynamic often new technology is rolled out with minimum to no training which can be challenging.
