    Pros

Great work environment. Everyone is friendly and approachable. TELUS hires a lot of recent graduates under their leadership development program (LDP) and it gives the interns an opportunity to see what working for TELUS full time will be like as interns are often included in the events organized by the LDP team for their respective departments.

    Cons

It is a very large organization and as a result, they have a very lengthy governance process. Their software development methodology is waterfall, which often causes delays and schedule variance due if one of the steps takes longer or isn't done properly by the respective team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A a new process/methodology (more lean/agile) can be looked into. If one or two of the teams have successfully implemented it, more teams should adapt it.

    Pros

Great people with a structured management practice that really worked. Able to respond to market trends before they occur and make significant inroads into mobile and TV.

    Cons

Large companies have politics, TELUS is no different than other companies. Strict fiscal responsibility sometimes hurt the core business, but experienced managers were able to successfully navigate this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seek the best people, incent them to keep them, and continue the charge into the future.
