    Pros

Very few. A great company lost its way. If you want to dirty your resume up, then you've come to the right place.

    Cons

Acquiring companies and then not integrating into the full stack is a poor plan. The acquired eventually goes stale without the necessary engineering resources.

    Advice to Management

Vista, letting management survive the takeover was a REALLY bad decision. You think a few Vista papers are going to fix this mess? Good job getting 100M discount up front. Chop it up and get what else you can before the stale technology is completely irrelevant.

    Pros

TIBCO is fast forward turning into a very mature organization. Processes are now in place for applying for and recording vacation time.

TIBCO pays decent salaries relative to the quality of people they hire. Given the reputation the company has in the job market they are getting desperate. We will see opportunity for car sales men to join as account executives.

The hierarchy is much flatter than it was before the takeover. A lot of useless managers, directors, VPs had to go to make room for the cronies of the new top management. The cost base is leaner as expensive older staff has been laid off or are leaving. There is a now a lot of room for ambitious second rate people to manage the third rate people now joining.

As products have been streamlined along with the realms of the product managers you can now happily be the product expert for your favorite niche. Wider technology expertise is no longer a requirement for a job at TIBCO.

There are a few good reasons why you may want to join TIBCO
    a) You are good at making noise in the sales organization.
    b) You are good at hiding from real work and gate tailing into successful deals.
    c) You are Indian and in need of a Visa.

    Cons

Nothing. Margin and revenue are on target.

    Advice to Management

Stop dreaming you were Steve Jobs.

    Pros

People on department teams are nice sometimes

    Cons

Do not believe the reviews HR had informed employees to write positive reviews so they can recruit since every one is leaving due to sale of company. Upper management is only friendly if you are in their circle. Also pictures are not of Palo alto office and ine picture has a whole department they laid off. .yes lay offs they will continue. Luckily i was not one but stay away from this company...

    Pros

Great products taking on big boys
Very good pay. Higher than average in this region
Good colleagues (when they last long enough)

    Cons

Asia Management clueless, rude and unprofessional
Suspicion on rampant corruption going on
    High turnover of staff
    Low commission
Company culture very odd and arrogant. Maybe its only APAC
No medical benefits. Maybe its only APAC HR

    Advice to Management

Replace the APAC Mgt ASAP. Vista bought the company and there are already some steps been taking to change the organization. More needs to be done. Especially company culture. You will see it when the numbers for APAC is shown soon. With this high turnover you will have big spikes in change of revenue. My bet is that it will be significantly down Year on Year

    Pros

Small company, some people are passionate about their work.

    Cons

After the acquisition by Equity Partner company is restructuring
Focused on replacing Tableau, Excel and the likes. Has not done well in Gartner report comparison in the last two years. Lost their Key Cloud developers

    Pros

Good people to work with, some good managers but not many.
    Great cafeteria and gym :-)

    Cons

In my case: No directive, no opportunities for advancement.

Management clique at the top that won't allow new people to advance.
Salary was OK but not keeping up with the equivalent tech companies.
Right now, people are probably waiting who will be cut next. Not a good place to be!

    Pros

easy to get work, the bar is very low. Don't have to do much, you can work a part-time consulting job from your TIBCO desk. Management has no idea what's going on.

    Cons

Everyone good has left the organization, so having TIBCO on your resume tells the world that you're second best.

    Advice to Management

Stay as long as possible at TIBCO, save the rest of the world from your poor management talents.

    Pros

Its brand name is still good for some prospects as the result of the past leadership.

    Cons

    I will try to summarize:
leadership is clueless and is killing the company.
    marketing is no existent.
good employees are flying out to any opportunity that knocks the door.
culture of pleasing your boss saying good things everywhere.
    no direction or strategy.
basic things like: support, education, channel and alliance are poorly managed.

    Advice to Management

Its time for you to retire and use and abuse of the nice money from the stock option.. let someone that knows what to do to take over...

Vista people you invested 6 billion dollars in this titanic and you are letting it be driven by a bunch of heckless managers, it is time to put your hands on the wheel.

    Pros

A still large (but dwindling) number of talented people. Great work-life balance, as everyone is pretty much sitting on their hands waiting for this corporate collapse to run its course. Plenty of time to work on one’s resume, as well as follow HR trolling on Glassdoor with their 5 star reviews making grand claims about Apple-like future for Tibco and touting the quality of the cafeteria.

    Cons

Stone Age business practices that seem to continue unabated after the Vista acquisition. C-grade upper management pretty skilled in raiding the company accounts to write themselves “retention” bonuses, but not so much in actually running the business. No clear vision, with fancy slide decks stuffed with high-tech lingo going for strategy. Total lack of corporate execution transparency with the obvious goal of avoiding accountability. A foul culture of treating people as an expendable resource apparently thinking there will always be more where these came from (hint: there may not be). The list can continue, but it should already be obvious all the building blocks for a 21st century high-tech winner are in place here.

    Advice to Management

Giving advice to current management is not worth wasting the screen pixels. Advice to Vista: take a closer look at what you’ve got here and roll up your sleeves quickly while there is still something salvageable left, you may not have a lot of time for the Herculean task of cleaning these stables. Advice to prospective employees: keep looking, there are way better career choices in the vicinity.
