    I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    I honestly have nothing positive to say about Tibco. Since my previous employer has been acquired by them, my job has become a nightmare.

    Cons

    Everything is a problem. Administration, HR, Organization, Legal, Travel, Expenses. This is the "fast data" company, they provide integration software, bpm (...) selling new technology and living in fire age, we cant build a plane with wood and stones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There is nothing to say anymore as Tibco has been acquired. Definitely not for the best

    I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great ideas...
    - Fantastic, smart and passionate employees.

    Cons

    - Very poor implementation of these great ideas.
    - Outdated products.
    - With every new release of a product more issues arise.
    - No decent cloud/SAAS offering.
    - Projects are failing, deals are being lost, people are getting fired and leaving.
    - The company has lost it's sparkle.
    - Complete disconnect between people on client site and engineering. Engineering team seems to be somewhere on their private island, implementing features they think might be "neat".
    - Work life balance is a serious issue for people in the field. Private time is nonexistent. Working for TIBCO means you're always ON.
    - Consultants have to be billable as much as they can, serving multiple clients in multiple locations/countries.
    - No compensation for travel! People working close to home are compensated in the same way as people traveling around the globe and risking their life in unsafe areas/countries.
    - Very little to none growth capabilities.
    - Hardly any time for training.
    - People are only trained internally with the focus on the products. People are not trained on how to act as a consultant (People Skills/Presentation Skills/Writing Skills/...) or on skills you might also require and might be valuable when on client site (Project Management/Architecture/...)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Refocus on what is really important.
    - Make the products more sexy (UI Development is not expensive!).
    - Streamline the company and unify the way things are developed/tested to assure products are consistent and working properly (how can you even sell things that are barely usable!).
    - Don't exploit your employees who work on client site. They are your most valuable asset. If they leave, projects fail, if projects fail, TIBCO has no references, ... If there are no or only bad references clients will not buy the products, ...
    - Act like a corporation, not like a startup.
    - I could probably write 100 lines more here... But again... Who cares?

    I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time

    Pros

    Lots of great non-exec employees, middle managers. Benefits are great. On site cafe has great food at a reasonable price.

    Cons

    Nepotism, favoritism, whatever you want to call it..is rampant. It's not about the quality of your work or skills, it's who you know to get ahead. Senior marketing execs are clueless. Constant focus shifting, half-baked campaigns, and people with little skill steering the ship, from the CMO on down. No bonus structure to speak of. Merit increases are a glorified popularity contest, or you get offered one when you quit. Career planning amounts to waiting for someone to leave, and maybe you'll get that job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I'm pointing the finger at the CEO. Either the mess isn't seen, or being ignored. Either way, the blame is on his feet. Do something before all the good people have left.

    Pros

    When I was hired, the best reasons were potential growth opportunities and a well established team.

    Cons

    No opportunity with the Vista transaction and leadership is oblivious to the internal issues. Culture is non-existent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I left because I didn't feel respected or valued. TIBCO unfortunately let go of quality employees that were critical to business function and then as a result even more quality employees had resigned. TIBCO has allowed Marketing to lay the blame solely on the Operational side but in reality the issues are stagnant in Process and poor Project Management. Open your eyes and address it. You let the talent go and the people left are walking blindly.

    Pros

    Honestly, can't think of one, except if you're looking for a place to settle down, and have no interest in work at all. The initial pay is too good (for the quality of people they hire) and work culture is relaxed. Work from home and off time is generally allowed.

    Cons

    Generally awful people. Lot of B and C players in middle management, who are incapable of hiring good people, so the quality is going down all the time.
    Apathetic attitude towards software ( because of 1st point).
    No progress on career front. No objectivity in appraisal process, people-pleasing and boot licking rules over meritocracy. Perhaps the only company where mediocrity is celebrated.
    Lack of transparency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Introduce stack ranking.
    Trim the middle management fat.
    Promote people from within.
    Hire better people, pay them better. That's the only way to delivering good results (not paying less, and cost cutting which is short-term vision)
    Have more all hands, take in more questions from employees.

    Pros

    Not a lot to be positive on...the pay was ok and reasonable benefits

    Cons

    Technology and products are old and outdated as are the management. Sales and marketing was failing and now with VC ownership this is not a fun place to work with little or zero career options

    Find new roles in other companies - fast

    Good benefits
    Fair salary

    Cons

    Vista bought Tibco ... what more can you say?

    Just look at the reviews of other companies that Vista aquired.

    It will go down the drain. They will sequeeze them out. The only place at this company is for people who own them.

    Huge layoffs have already begun, ... further cost cutting wlll follow!

    VIsta has a playbook that they execute. Just read the other reviews.

    Feel awesome to work in the great place, great people; relative less organizational politics

    Cons

    everything become worse after acquisition, huge layoff, cut cost, morale is bad .

    Pros

    not sure there are any. TIBCO lost the ability to innovate years back and the stock started to talk. was acquired by a private firm who laid off a tom of people. focus is on getting as much cash as possible out without investing in people or products.

    Cons

    lack of leadership, poor compensation, low communication, constant threat of layoff.

    keep doing what you are doing, take the money and run.
