I have been working at TIBCO Software

    Pros

Palo Alto campus is a great working environment; limited "micro-management" from above; excellent software employed in some pretty unique solutions for impressive customers; generally speaking, a nice group of people and some very smart individuals

    Cons

Has the bureaucracy expected of a MUCH bigger company; Lacks the nimbleness expected of a smaller company; FOV; Know all the buzzwords re "employee morale & satisfaction" but it's rarely more than lipservice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some expertise in the senior ranks

    I worked at TIBCO Software

    Pros

The on site cafe, the once a month birthdays and happy hours, and if you like to have an office, most people get them. The management team is hands off if you like that kind of environment and the privacy of having your own office. Most departments seemed pretty flexible on when you come in and leave as long as you get your work done. Blackberry's were given out to most people I saw at the company. I met some great individuals there who are no longer with the company for the same reason that I am not. I hear there are opportunites to work at different offices around the world.

    Cons

Poor management team, and it often felt as though they played favorites for some. There was often no direction with projects that were handed off to others. No one seems to work together as a team, it seems like a lot of people work by themselves without getting input from others. There always seemed to be a lot of people leaving the company and new people coming in all the time - high turnover. The review process seemed a little out of whack in that they base your score on if you get a bonus, making some people unable to get a bonus because they were off by ".1" percent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Unfortunately, I think the management team needs a lot of advice. They need to engage departments more to make them feel as if they are on a team and not in it alone.

Try to work more than 5 hours a week! He spends more time at the gym then he does in the office.

    I worked at TIBCO Software

    Pros

It used to be the people (below senior management). Now that is not the case. The products are good and they actually work, but TIBCO is a dinosaur. The customers really like the products and engineers.

    Cons

One and only - senior management. They are all friends of Vivek and have made it to where they are based solely on their loyalty to him. They are not qualified for their positions and it is the single biggest thing holding back the company. It is a very frustrating place to work because it could be such a more powerful and well recognized place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Retire or sell the company.

I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Used to be a nice place to work, some interesting challenges....

    Cons

After Vista Private Equity acquisition the company is no longer a good place to work. They fired hundreds of people after the acquisition. There is no clear strategy behind this decision, Vista just needed to reduce costs in order to pay for the huge amount of debt it incurred as result of the acquisition. There is also no clear strategy behind the product roadmap and the management team, which are ultimately responsible for the TIBCO failure, got promoted along the way.

I wouldn't advise buying TIBCO products as some of them might just disappear as Vista will decommission products that are not interesting for them.

In summary, Vista PE will make a lot of money and kill a great company along the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too late for advice. They already messed up big time.

I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    1. None. I did not find anything.

    Cons

    1. Very less onsite opportunities. They send onsite senior managers only where it is not required.
    2. Do not have Group Anti Corruption Law Policies. Group of some idiots and unprofessional peoples can tarnish companies image.
    3. Do not have sexual harassment policies. And HR is puppet show of managers.
    4. Not recommended place for Experienced peoples.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is huge world outside tibco. Pull of some senior older managers and hire new talent.
