    Pros

Compelling technology, solid engineering employee base

    Cons

They simply do not get the notion of work/life balance and will be the first to tell you that your butt in your seat is more important than your productivity. You are watched when you come and go vs. how much work you actually get done. They have no concept that you can actually be more productive when you are happy and have flexibility. Admittedly would rather lose talent than accommodate a flexible schedule

    Advice to Management

Get with the times...it's 2012; people don't need to be in the office to be productive. Also, C-level management needs subject matter expertise and knowledge, not just friends of the CEO

    Pros

Great technical workforce Willing to share technical knowledge between each other Relatively good compensation for senior consultants & architects

    Cons

$, $$, $$$ - This is all Senior management care about. Forget about time with your family, what you like to do, or profit sharing. Senior management likes to VERBALLY praise you. And that's pretty much all you will get for sacrificing your personal life for them. Good workers tend to get overwork yet uncompensated, while less than stellar performers gets a free ride. Managers who knows how to smooth talk but without a good technical background leads to unrealistic, unsustainable expectation that sets employees (& the company) up for failure

    Advice to Management

Respect your employee Treat them as human, not a machine Do not take advantage of people who needs green card sponsorship. There should not be modern day salavery. Don't not over work people Be fair to your customers. Do not lie to your customers and charge them an exorbitant amount for a junior consultant who only knows the product for a few days.

    Pros

good products, keeping technology pace with changes in software industry

    Cons

middle management is not competitive. plays lot of nepotism. gives wrong feedback to upper management. Misuses the power & their access to upper management. Upper management completely neglects employee satisifaction.

    Advice to Management

upper management is not concerned about anything other than getting projects done. They should start caring about the goose that gives them golden eggs and not the fools that manages the goose.

Talented people, technology innovation, flexiable working environment

    Cons

Bad top level management, still in startup mode, lack of business vision, no growth, unfairness when it comes to compensation, stock options.

Get a new CEO who can grow or sell the company

    Pros

A good place to learn enterprise software technology, and learn from some very smart peers.

    Cons

Vivek and his inner circle are aloof, arrogant and believe their own bulls*. Talented managers and executives either get frustrated and quit or get fired because they speak truth to power or they get in the way of sycophants. Rank and file is demoralized after losing good leaders and pay cuts.

    Advice to Management

Vivek should have sold the company or kicked himself upstairs years ago.

    Pros

There are GREAT products at TIBCO--you can't beat them so you can be proud that you are at a company that doesn't have to lie to sell.

    Cons

There is no concept of work/life balance at TIBCO. If you want to work for a company where you can comfortably stop looking at your blackberry after 7 pm, TIBCO is not the place to do it. There is very little (if any) visibility into how you earn a good bonus, so as the year end gets closer it pays to be as visible as possible to the executive staff. There is not a very long memory in terms of what an employee did early in the year as it pertains to bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that those you put in management positions have the knowledge to run the groups that you have them in charge of. If they have never worked in that group (at TIBCO or elsewhere) it might be a good indicator that they are not the choice for that role. Also, stop being afraid of the truth. You have great products, you don't need to lie about results.

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity and good named customer base. There's so much constant change that it almost always means a good opportunity pops up if you work hard and keep you head down. The customers are great and they put on a really good annual user event. They make pretty good, highly complex products that many Global 2000 companies use. Good cafe and pretty good benefits.

    Cons

Marketing attrition is big. Around 90+% over 3 years there. They lost so many of their good marketing leaders and it's rudderless. Executives aren't well respected and for the most part nicknamed "FOVs", which means "Friends of Vivek" (the CEO). There is very little leadership to look up to and most often people feel like there is no guiding strategy, just case after case of changing direction and having to sprint.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company, it's obvious you don't know how to manage for growth and Vivek will never make the hard call to oust his friends.

    Pros

Palo Alto campus is a great working environment; limited "micro-management" from above; excellent software employed in some pretty unique solutions for impressive customers; generally speaking, a nice group of people and some very smart individuals

    Cons

Has the bureaucracy expected of a MUCH bigger company; Lacks the nimbleness expected of a smaller company; FOV; Know all the buzzwords re "employee morale & satisfaction" but it's rarely more than lipservice.

    Advice to Management

Get some expertise in the senior ranks
